7/29 Roy Oswalt (P-PHI) Roy Oswalt has accepted a trade to the Phillies and only needs to pass a physical. Oswalt, 6-12 with a 3.42 ERA, was traded for LHP J.A. Happ and 2 prospects. Additionally, Oswalt will not have his 2012 option picked up by the Phillies and will receive an additional 1 million dollars in buyout.

7/29 J.A. Happ (P-PHI) J.A. Happ and 2 prospects have been dealt to the Houston Astros for Roy Oswalt. Happ was 1-0 with a 1.76 ERA for the Phillies and, while he will be missed, had to be part of a package in order to acquire Oswalt.

7/29 Scott Sizemore (2B-DET) Sizemore was optioned to AAA to make room for Jhonny Peralta.

7/29 Reidier Gonzalez (P-TOR) Gonzalez was outrighted to AAA.

7/29 Scott Moore (3B/2B-BAL) Moore was outrighted to AAA.

7/29 Mitch Moreland (1B/OF-TEX) Moreland was recalled from AAA with Ian Kinsler landing on the DL. He was hitting .289 with 12 HR and 65 RBI at AAA and was Texas' minor league player of the year in 2009.

7/29 Ian Kinsler (2B-TEX) Kinsler was placed on the DL with a left groin strain.

7/29 Ben Sheets (P-OAK) Manager Bob Geren announced Wednesday that Sheets will miss the remainder of the season with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. Surgery has not been scheduled yet and maybe avoided if Sheets elects to retire. If he does undergo surgery, it is possible he may not pitch in 2011.

7/29 Stephen Strasburg (P-WSH) Nationals place Strasburg on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder stiffness. This is the right move to protect his arm.

7/29 Aaron Harang (P-CIN) Injured Reds starter Aaron Harang (lower back spasms) has resumed a throwing program in Cincinnati. A target return date remains very much up in the air, however.
