Gonzalez will thow batting practice Monday in extnded spring training and it will be the first time he has faced hitters since landing on the DL. Barring any setbacks, Gonzalez is targeting an early June return.

With three shaky appearances this season, Baltimore manager Dave Trembley said Gonzalez will not be closing games until he corrects some mechanical flaws. Trembley did not say who would close in lieu of Gonzalez, if the situation warrants.
