The 34-year-old right-handed pitcher from Cascade, Iowa, agreed with the Chicago Cubs on a one-year contract with an option for 2026, according to MLB.com. Rea spent the 2020 season with the Cubs and pitched for current Cubs manager Craig Counsell during the 2023 season.
