5/24/25 | Mets cut ties with two key pieces as casualties of 13-inning marathon. The New York Mets were forced into some tough decisions after a 13-inning marathon loss to the Dodgers on Friday night. The Mets called up lefty Brandon Waddell and utilityman Jared Young from Triple-A Syracuse to take their place. Azocar only got in the long game as a pinch-runner. He's actually been semi-useful for the Mets, putting up a .278 batting average in the early going. Cabrera threw two great innings for New York against the Dodgers. 5/01/25 | How the Mets are handling their bullpen amid injuries, grueling schedule. For the third day in the row, the Mets' bullpen looked a little different. The Mets called up left-hander Genesis Cabrera and right-hander Ty Adcock from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday and sent down left-hander Brandon Waddell and right-hander Chris Devenski. Waddell and Devenski had been called up before Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and both pitched multiple innings in that game.
