3/12/25 White Sox sign OF Travis Jankowski to minor league deal. The White Sox signed veteran Travis Jankowsk to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training Tuesday, and it seems the outfielder best remembered by Sox fans for stealing a home run from Andrew Vaughn last season stands a good chance of making the Opening Day roster. With Andrew Benintendi all but certain to miss the start of the season with a broken bone in his hand, and Austin Slater dealing with an oblique strain, there's room in an outfield that now includes Luis Robert Jr., Mike Tauchman and Michael A. Taylor at the top of the depth chart.

3/11/25 Corners Report: The First Basemen.

Welcome back to this wonderful journey we call the Corners Report. It’s my third year on this prestigious website, and hopefully, you don’t remember two years ago when I pimped Andrew Vaughn and Anthony Rizzo. This year, it’s a challenge to rank and discuss the corners as they are, um, a bit shallow. Please, blog, may I have some more?

3/03/25 Competition within the fraternity: Lots of jobs available in White Sox camp. The White Sox clubhouse on the major league side of their complex at spring training is full. There were 71 players at the start, with the first cuts looming that will send some to the minor league side. There are veterans like first baseman Andrew Vaughn, center fielder Luis Robert Jr. and left-hander Martin Perez fully confident that, barring injury, they will wear a major league uniform on Opening Day May 27, and others like 2024 first-round draft choice Hagen Smith, who knows he'll likely have to wait for his turn. In between are those competing hard for spots, like 22-year-old shortstop Colson Montgomery, a first-round draft choice trying get back to 100% health after being slowed by back soreness, pushing to show his has arrived.

2/26/25 Savvy bettor says White Sox won't be as bad this season. Savvy Southern California handicapper Tommy Lorenzo sees some rays of hope for the woeful White Sox, courtesy of their own Andrew Vaughn and the Marlins. Last year, the rudderless Sox were a 41-121 mess. Such horrible baseball hadn't been witnessed since 1962, when the expansion Mets went 40-120. For 2025, Lorenzo envisions nobody playing worse than the Marlins.

2/24/25 White Sox' Andrew Vaughn looking to pick up where he left off in second half of 2024. Two weeks into spring training, and the White Sox are still in that getting-to-know-you stage. First baseman Andrew Vaughn will be one of them, barring a trade. Not that his name is circulating in rumor mills, but anything is possible for a Sox team rebuilding after a 121-loss season that Vaughn endured with 23 others returning from the 40-man roster who were there at one time or another in 2024. “Just have to turn the page,” Vaughn said Monday.
