12/03/24 | Phillies predicted to nab $105 million All-Star slugger in free agency blockbuster. There was one obvious flaw for the star-studded Philadelphia Phillies in 2024, and it begs for correction as soon as possible. The Phillies had a Major League Baseball-best eight All-Stars last season--three starting pitchers, three infielders, and two relievers. Nick Castellanos was solid down the stretch, but Brandon Marsh, Johan Rojas, and Austin Hays all struggled to carry their weight. The Phillies ended up releasing Hays, and if there's one position that Philadelphia will look to spend big this offseason, it's somewhere in the outfield. 11/28/24 | Philadelphia Phillies Reportedly Not Looking to Trade Rising Star Outfielder. Outfield continues to be an issue for the Philadelphia Phillies, and that area is something the front office is tasked with upgrading before they head into the upcoming 2025 season. Nick Castellanos didn't have the All-Star-caliber performance this past campaign like he had in 2023, but he still was one of the most reliable players by being in the lineup for all 162 games and was one of the few hitters who performed well in the playoffs. Brandon Marsh took a step back at the plate, and at this point in his career, he looks to be just a platoon option for the Phillies going forward against right-handed pitchers. Johan Rojas is still miles away at the plate despite his elite defense, likely a casualty of Philadelphia calling him up rapidly which didn't allow him to develop his offensive traits. 11/22/24 | Phillies could ditch $108m combined All-Star duo, per insider. The Philadelphia Phillies won 95 games in 2024 but there's a strong chance that the team is going to make some big changes. Philadelphia clearly has a lot of star power. Philadelphia has a well-built roster that has talent everywhere. The New York Post's Jon Heyman suggested both Nick Castellanos and Alec Bohm could be on the way out of town in trades. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/philadelphia-p... |
11/16/24 | 4 Relief Pitchers Philadelphia Phillies Should Pursue in Free Agency. The Philadelphia Phillies are looking to improve this offseason after an early exit in the playoffs last year, and they will have a few key areas to look at. It was another disappointing October for the Phillies in 2024, as despite being considered a World Series contender, they won just one game in the National League Division Series against the New York Mets and were sent home early. In the series loss, a few areas of weakness were exposed for Philadelphia. In their lineup, their outfield didn't provide any offensive help outside of Nick Castellanos.
