Quick Player Search (enter last name only):

3/11 Jimmy Gobble (P-COL) Gobble left today's game complaining of pain in his left groin. "I asked him, 'Did it pop?'" Rockies manager Jim Tracy said. "He said it didn't pop but he felt it on the last pitch he threw." Gobble will be re-evaluated Friday.

3/11 Brian Giles (OF-FA) Giles announced his retirement today.

3/11 Shawn Estes (P-FA) Estes was released by the Nats today.

3/11 Eddie Guardado (P-FA) Guardado was released by the Nats today.

3/11 Michael Moustakas (3B-KC) Seven non-roster players, including third baseman Mike Moustakas, were assigned to the Royals' Minor League camp on Thursday. Moustakas only has value in dynasty leagues.

3/11 Russell Branyan (1B-CLE) Branyan is still rehabbing from his chronic back issues. Because of a herniated disc in his lower back, he has yet to appear at batting practice, to say nothing of playing in a Cactus League game.

3/11 Matt LaPorta (OF-CLE) LaPorta went 0-for-1 in his first spring training appearance. He got a late start after having surgery on his left hip and big toe last October.

3/11 Cole Hamels (P-PHI) Cole Hamels had another solid outing and looks to be in a better frame of mind than last year. Hamels allowed a HR, 1 ER and struck out 3 in 3.2 innings pitched. Hamels has a 3.18 ERA on the spring and will be a solid #2 SP behind Roy Halladay.

3/11 Greg Dobbs (3B-PHI) Greg Dobbs, after a below average season, is back spraying the ball around. Dobbs went 2-4 with 2 runs scored Wednesday and is batting .300 on the spring. Dobbs will be the primary lefthanded bat off the bench this year.

3/11 Placido Polanco (2B-PHI) Placido Polanco had a nice game and continues to hit early on this spring. Polanco went 2-2 with a couple of walks and is batting .400 on the spring.
