Kyle Tucker homers as the Astros beat the Rockies 8-2 in Mexico City. Kyle Tucker, Jose Altuve and Jeremy Peña each hit a solo homer, helping Framber Valdez and the Houston Astros beat the Colorado Rockies 8-2 in Mexico City. Tucker and Yainer Diaz each drove in two runs as Houston swept the two-game series at Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium. Valdez pitched five innings of two-run ball in his first big league start since April 2. The left-hander allowed five hits, struck out six and walked none. Valdez had been sidelined by elbow inflammation, one of several pitching injuries that had contributed to Houston’s 9-19 start.

Austin Martin and Alex Kiriloff drove in two runs apiece, and the Minnesota Twins stretched winning streak to seven games while completing a weekend sweep of the struggling Los Angeles Angels with an 11-5 victory Sunday. Martin had a two-run single during a four-run fifth inning for the Twins, and Kiriloff had a pinch-hit two-run double in Minnesota's four-run seventh. Ryan Jeffers, Jose Miranda, Christian Vázquez and Willi Castro had three hits apiece as Minnesota pounded out 17 hits while scoring at least five runs in its seventh consecutive game and moving back above .500 for the seasonat 14-13.

Angels' pitchers struggle on way to 9th loss in 10 games. Reid Detmers had been the Angels' best starting pitcher all season and Luis Garcia had been their best reliever over the past few weeks. Both had a chance to help the Angels stop their slide on Sunday, and both endured miserable outings. The Angels lost to the Minnesota Twins, 11-5, falling for the ninth time in the past 10 games. Detmers, who carried a 2.12 ERA to the mound, was charged with five runs in five-plus innings, all of them scoring after he started the game with three perfect innings.

So here’s the issue off the top: Jackson Holliday is not on this list. I mean I haven’t written yet, in full, but he’s not gonna be on this list. One of the few rules I’ve created to help me create this document throughout the season is that once you’re a big leaguer in the current season, you’re off the list. Holliday cashed those major league game checks, so he won’t be represented here. I suppose he'd be first here, but I’m not even gonna think about it because one of the key points here is to highlight players who might not be rostered yet. I’m not even sure we’re late enough into the season to reach that objective in most leagues, but that’s irrelevant to the ultimate Ultimate goal of creating interesting, readable fantasy baseball content. Benintendi hits 2nd home of game in 10th, White Sox beat Rays 8-7 for 5th win of season.. Andrew Benintendi hit a two-run home run in the 10th inning for his second homer of the game and the season, giving the Chicago White Sox an 8-7 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday night. Benintendi had three hits and six RBIs to help Chicago won its second straight and for just the fifth time this season. Chicago’s 5-22 start is its worst ever in 27 games. Baltimore started 3-24 in 1988. Benintendi won it by smacking the first pitch he saw from Phil Maton (0-2) deep over the right-center wall. Automatic runner Curtis Mead scored from third on Deivi Garcia’s (1-2) wild pitch in the dirt in the top of the 10th to put Tampa Bay ahead 7-6.

Highly touted prospect Jackson Holliday has been optioned to the minor leagues by the Baltimore Orioles after starting his big league career with a disappointing thud. Holliday was promoted from Triple-A Norfolk on April 10 amid plenty of fanfare, but the 20-year-old second baseman managed only two hits — both singles — and two walks in 36 plate appearances. He struck out 18 times and was batting .059 with one RBI and a .111 on-base percentage. The Orioles tried to rest him periodically, but Holliday, the top pick in the 2022 MLB draft, never busted out of his funk at the plate.

Mitch Haniger hit a grand slam in the sixth inning, two batters after Arizona ace Zac Gallen left because of tightness in his right hamstring, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Diamondbacks 6-1 on Friday night. Gallen (3-2) walked Josh Rojas to lead off the sixth, then was pulled in the middle of Julio Rodríguez’s subsequent at-bat. Rodríguez went on to single off Scott McGough, and Cal Raleigh walked to load the bases for Haniger, who hammered a 389-foot shot to left-center. Josh Rojas and Mitch Garver also homered for Seattle, and Emerson Hancock (3-2) threw six strong innings. Arizona’s Kevin Newman homered in the sixth, one of two hits allowed by Hancock.

Brent Rooker hits a go-ahead double in the 10th to carry the Athletics past the Orioles 3-2. Brent Rooker doubled in the tiebreaking run in the 10th inning to cap a late comeback that carried the Oakland Athletics past the Baltimore Orioles 3-2. After Oakland rallied from a 2-1 deficit to pull even in the ninth against Orioles closer Craig Kimbrel, Rooker put the A’s in front with a two-out liner into the left-field corner off Jacob Webb. Mitch Spence worked the ninth and Mason Miller got three outs for his seventh save. Miller stuck out Gunnar Henderson on a 101.8 mph fastball with a runner on third to end it. Shea Langeliers homered in the first and scored in the 10th for the A's.

Bailey Ober took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, Carlos Santana homered and the Minnesota Twins extended their winning streak to five games, beating the Los Angeles Angels 5-3 on Friday night. Santana drove in two runs, while Byron Buxton, Ryan Jeffers and Willi Castro each had an RBI to help the Twins won the opener of a three-game series and a six-game trip.
