Kayfus — are playing Major League Baseball. Smith, 22, is patrolling the outfield for the Houston Astros, while Kayfus, 23, is now playing in the outfield for the Cleveland Guardians.

8/7 8:51 PM Bryce Miller (P-SEA) 2nd rehab start by Seattle Mariners' Bryce Miller not as smooth. There is good news and bad news from the second rehab start made by Seattle Mariners pitcher Bryce Miller. The good news is more important, which is that Miller was able to throw 66 pitches, 47 of which were strikes, for the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers on Thursday night against the Reno Aces. Miller made it through just 3 2/3 innings at Tacoma's Cheney Stadium, and he learned firsthand why the Pacific Coast League is known as a launching pad for home runs. The Aces struck for three homers against Miller, two of which were by Seth Brown, an Oregon native who twice hit the 20-homer mark in the majors with the Athletics.

Rookie Drake Baldwin hit two homers and drove in five runs as the Atlanta Braves erased a four-run deficit to beat the visiting Miami Marlins 8-6 on Thursday in the opener of a five-game series. Atlanta ended a three-game losing streak and evened the season series against the Marlins at 3-3. The Braves had lost five in a row at home. After trailing 6-2 through four innings, Atlanta cut the deficit to one in the sixth on Baldwin's three-run homer.

It wasn't just the scoreboard where the Pittsburgh Pirates were winning Thursday night — the height jokes were flying, too. During pregame warmups ahead of the Reds-Pirates series opener at PNC Park, 6-foot-7 Oneil Cruz and 6-foot-5 Elly De La Cruz had some good-natured fun at the expense of 5-foot-9 Matt McLain. The towering duo towered over McLain and jokingly teased the Reds infielder for his smaller frame in what's become a viral and light-hearted moment between two of the game's most athletic shortstops and their vertically challenged peer. While McLain took the ribbing in stride, the rest of the night wasn't quite as enjoyable for the Cincinnati Reds.

When the Colorado Rockies drafted former Georgia Bulldogs third baseman and Golden Spikes Award winner Charlie Condon third overall in the 2024 MLB Draft, it looked as if the team had just secured their star of the future. The elite slugger made a name for himself at the collegiate level by rising from a complete unknown to one of the most complete power hitters the NCAA ranks has produced in recent memory. Given how electric his final year with the Dawgs was, many expected Condon to rocket up the minor league ranks, and he certainly did so early on. After only playing 24 games in Advanced A in 2024, Condon quickly progressed from Rookie Ball all the way up to Double-A Hartford over the first half of the 2025 campaign.
