The Chiefs did not have a run game all of last season, and if they want to be serious contenders in 2025, they will need to have the run game be effective. The Chiefs run game last season was not there no matter what they tried. It is going to be interesting to see what the Chiefs do the rest of the offseason to get a running back in the building, with starting running back Isiah Pacheco and veteran back Kareem Hunt. The Chiefs have both Hunt and Pacheco next season but with Pacheco coming off an injury that limited his time on the field last season and Hunt who cannot carry the load for the whole season, the Chiefs must bring in another back to take the load off in the running back room and also for star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Even with those three backs, a running back could still be a clear option for the Chiefs in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft that begins in a couple of weeks. The Chiefs want to bring back a good run game for the 2025 season. Last season was not a good year for the running department. They tried to run the ball but they could not find consistent success.
