11/17/23 Mets needs pitchers, and a hard-throwing ace is expected to be traded. Manuel Margot isn't the only Tampa Bay Rays player who will likely be wearing a new uniform next season. According to reports and most recently ESPN's Jeff Passan, starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow is “widely expected” to be traded this offseason. Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns said at the General Manager Meetings in early November that the “priority” will be to add pitching because he feels the Mets are “short” on it — and it doesn't take someone with his title to figure that one out. Could the Mets be interested in the 30-year-old right-hander?

This is a total no-no, said the host of “The Michael Kay Show” on ESPN New York on Thursday.

11/16/23 Tampa Bay Rays discussing Manuel Margot with New York Yankees and Mets, among others. The Tampa Bay Rays are going to trade veteran outfielder Manuel Margot, it's just a question of where to and who for. Margot, who turned 29 in September, came to the Rays in a trade prior to the 2020 season. Since that time, Margot has been an invaluable part of the Rays roster, both due to his on the field performance and his off the field mentorship of the team's younger players. Performance wise, he has been very consistent, hitting .264/.317/.375 with 19 HR over four seasons with Tampa Bay, accruing 4.9 fWAR.

11/16/23 Yankees in trade talks for AL East rival outfielder. In their offseason pursuit of two outfield bats, the Yankees continue to be linked to potentially available players. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that New York has engaged with the Tampa Bay Rays in “multiple conversations this offseason,” regarding Manuel Margot. The Yankees are looking for a left fielder and a center fielder. Margot could be a fit for the latter, Rosenthal notes, being that the 29-year-old has played 521 career games in center while appearing in 198 in right and 50 in left.
