5/09/24 Mets’ Harrison Bader raised an interesting question -- we can answer it. For some reason, a belief has arisen that general managers or analytics departments -- someone other than the manager -- hand down lineups. But that is not the case in New York.

5/07/24 Mets Announcers Had Perfect Reactions to Ump's Bad Call in Key Moment. The New York Mets were able to overcome a bad call by the umpiring crew in the eighth inning and hold on for a 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night. In case you missed it, Mets center fielder Harrison Bader appeared to beat a tag at third base but the ump called him out. New York then challenged the call but the review center didn't overturn it.

4/28/24 Cardinals come within one strike of sweep before falling to Mets in 11 innings. The Cardinals were one strike away from a win, one strike away from sweeping the series against the Mets, one strike away from getting back to the .500 mark for the season. Former Cardinal Harrison Bader kept all that from happening, however, with an RBI single on an 0-2 pitch from Matthew Liberatore that tied Sunday's game in the 11th inning in New York. The Cardinals were then one strike away from extending the game to the 12th, but Mark Vientos hit a 1-2 pitch from Liberatore over a leaping Michael Siani, just clearing the wall in right-center for the walk-off home run.

4/20/24 Mets 'star' outfielder Harrison Bader wears Star of David on his belt in support of Israeli roots. Harrison Bader wears his heart on his belt. The Bronxville-born Mets outfielder got lots of love this week for his game-winning hit against the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday — and for his sartorial support of Israel via a white Star of David on his waistband. “Harrison Bader clears the bases with a game winning double for Mets tonight . . . but that isn't the story . . . look closely at his belt,” posted Nachi Gordon, head of the organization Meaningful Minute, on X. 4 Bader, whose dad Louis is Jewish, also sports a necklace he wears for the hostages in Gaza. 4/19/24 Mets power past Dodgers for fifth consecutive win. Jose Lindor hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the seventh inning, Harrison Bader had four hits and the visiting New York Mets increased their winning streak to five games with a 9-4 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. DJ Stewart homered and had three RBIs as the Mets won for the seventh time in eight games and improved to 11-3 since an 0-5 start.

4/16/24 Mets' turnaround from 0-5 start coincides with Bader's emergence from season-opening slump. Harrison Bader walked into a new clubhouse for the third time in 18 months and felt empowered as he introduced himself to Mets teammates. New York overcame a 3-0, sixth-inning deficit and reached .500 for the first time since the Mets were 30-30 before play last June 6. New York has won eight of 11 following an 0-5 start under first-year manager Carlos Mendoza, its reversal of fortune coinciding with Bader's turnaround. Traded from St. Louis to the Yankees in August 2022, the native of suburban Bronxville just north of New York City lasted a little over a year in the Bronx and was claimed off waivers by Cincinnati.

Harrison Bader singled leading off the eighth inning for the New York Mets, ending Detroit's bid for a combined no-hitter in the second game of a doubleheader Thursday. Bader took a half-swing at a 1-2 changeup from left-handed reliever Tyler Holton and blooped it into shallow left-center, drawing a Bronx cheer from the sparse crowd at Citi Field. The unbeaten Tigers took a 1-0 lead into the ninth inning of the second game.

2/26/24 Mets plan for top prospect Drew Gilbert to stay in center field throughout spring: Could he be Harrison Bader safety valve?. Carlos Mendoza's praise was high for one of the Mets' top prospects, outfielder Drew Gilbert, ahead of his spring training debut on Monday. The 23-year-old Gilbert, who is a top two or three prospect within the organization, is preparing for his first full season in the Mets' organization after being the centerpiece of the return from the Houston Astros in the trade involving Justin Verlander last summer. Gilbert was the Astros' No. 1 prospect, slashing .241/.342/.371 (.713 OPS) with six home runs, and 20 RBI in 60 games with Houston's Double-A affiliate before he was sent to New York.

2/25/24 Harrison Bader teaches Mets' prospect Drew Gilbert the importance of 'unseen' offseason hours. PORT ST. LUCIE — Spring training exists for conversations like the one Harrison Bader and Drew Gilbert enjoyed. Early in Mets camp, the veteran and young outfielder, respectively, sat together in the cafeteria at Clover Park and talked about plenty. Bader recognizes some of himself in Gilbert, both gifted and explosive center fielders with good speed and both physical specimens. Neither wastes time in the weight room. The main topic of conversation centered upon taking care of their bodies, particularly in the offseason. If Bader could redo any part of his career, he said, he would not flash back to strikeouts or errors; he would have tried to find a daily routine earlier that worked for him

2/20/24 Michael Kay skewers the Mets' offseason: 'Derelict in their duty'. Michael Kay laid the lumber to the Mets for their paltry spending this offseason. While the Mets have signed veterans like Harrison Bader and Luis Severino on short-term deals this winter, they have avoided the splashy acquisitions that highlighted the outset of owner Steve Cohen's tenure. In a recent segment on ESPN New York, Kay acknowledged that he would get flack given that he is the longtime play-by-play broadcaster for the Yankees, but argued that Cohen's enormous wealth should mean the Mets should never retreat. 2/19/24 Ex-Yankee Harrison Bader optimistic about health with Mets: 'Being super healthy is always the goal'. Harrison Bader made an impact on his first day with the Mets — a literal impact. The center fielder fouled off a pitch from Michael Tonkin during live batting practice and it went through a glass window in the top level of Clover Park on Monday during the Mets' first full-squad workout. If healthy, the Mets believe that the Bronxville native could impact the team on both sides of the ball. The 29-year-old Horace Mann product has consistently been one of the top center fielders in baseball since a breakout season in 2018 with the St. Louis Cardinals.

2/15/24 Where should Harrison Bader bat in Mets' lineup?. Harrison Bader's glove is going to get him an opportunity to be the Mets' starting center fielder in 2024. The 29-year-old has been one of Major League Baseball's best defensive center fielders since 2018, with his outs above average (range) ranking in an average of the 95th percentile amongst all players at his position (h/t Baseball Savant). What has withheld him from becoming a star in the majors is his bat. According to Bader, offensive struggles have aligned with ceaseless injury issues.
