3/26/24 After offseason at Driveline, Mariners' Ty France hopes revamped swing leads to better production. Spring Training was a trial run for Mariners first baseman Ty France and his new swing. "It's crazy to see how bad my swing was on like a mechanical aspect," he said. France roped line drive after line drive this spring thanks to an offseason spent at Driveline. "Basically every MLB hitter that's ever come through here has seen some sort of improvement in their game," said Tanner Stokey, the director of hitting at the facility in Kent.

3/01/24 France's adjustments may mean he gets hit less, Mariners 1B says. A top storyline of this offseason for the Seattle Mariners has been the work that first baseman Ty France put in. After a poor 2023 season, the 2022 All-Star had a very different offseason by going to Driveline to work on his swing. There, he told Seattle Sports' Brock and Salk on Friday, he learned how “inefficient” his swing was, and he and trainers went to work on fixing that. “The swing just hadn't been the same for the last couple years, so trying to figure out how to get that back and not necessarily be who I used to be, but I wanted to even be better than that and clean more things up because I knew it had been a while since I felt like myself,” he later added.

2/28/24 How offseason for Seattle Mariners' Ty France looked at Driveline. A big storyline of the upcoming 2024 season is how Seattle Mariners first baseman Ty France will perform after a very different offseason for the veteran hitter. France has had a very nice career to this point since debuting with San Diego in 2019, and he's been one of the Mariners' top hitters since being traded to Seattle in 2020.

2/26/24 Wait – did Seattle Mariners' Ty France add speed to his game?. Among the highlights from the first weekend of Cactus League play for the Seattle Mariners was the first offensive opportunity of the spring for Ty France. It was a good start for the veteran Mariners first baseman, who ripped a shot down the line in left field in the second inning and coasted into second base for a stand-up double (video here). It's hard to tell just how fast France was moving on his double before he was able to coast into second, however. Luckily for us, he was able to show off his wheels a few batters later, moving up from second to third on a sacrifice flyout by Josh Rojas.

Julio Rodríguez hit a run-scoring double and later scored the tiebreaking run after drawing an intentional walk, leading the playoff-contending Seattle Mariners to a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Luis Castillo added six strong innings for the Mariners, who rebounded from Monday’s extra-innings loss to take two of three from Los Angeles.
