Kliff Kingsbury took some time away from the NFL before returning this season as the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders, and in the meantime helped coach USC quarterback Caleb Williams who eventually became the future of the Chicago Bears franchise this April. 5/12/24 Commanders' Dan Quinn raises eyebrows with Redskins flair in T-shirt. Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn appeared to ruffle feathers over the weekend when he wore a short that incorporated the old Redskins team name into the current logo. First, there was the news Washington rookie defensive tackle Jer'Zhan 'Johnny' Newton will miss significant time due to needing a second foot surgery.

5/11/24 Washington Commanders Reveal DT Johnny Newton Needs Second Foot Surgery. What goes up must come down they say and while the Washington Commanders have been riding high after high this offseason there was bound to be a setback along the way. This second procedure will be done on his left foot, not on the right foot which he had a procedure done on in January ahead of Washington selecting him in the NFL Draft. Quinn declined to put a timeline on Newton's recovery time once the procedure is complete but this new development means the rookie will miss the entirety of his rookie minicamp as well as the team's first session with veteran's present next week.
