Luna usually spends a week or so in Tampa during spring training and travels to New York a couple of times a year to see Loaisiga, who gives him great access at — and away from — the ballpark. A couple of years ago, Luna texted me a photo from his homeland that he took of Loaisiga playing pool with retired pitcher Vicente Padilla, a 2002 All-Star who probably ranks as Nicaragua's second-best big-leaguer behind El Presidente, Dennis Martinez.
