3/31/24 After comeback, Nats look for another win in Cincinnati. Following a dramatic come-from-behind win Saturday, the Washington Nationals look for a series win Sunday when they play the rubber match of their three-game series against the host Cincinnati Reds. Keibert Ruiz is off to a hot start for Washington, going 4-for-7 in the first two games. Joey Meneses is 4-for-8 through the first two games and former Reds left fielder Jesse Winker is 3-for-8 and threw out Santiago Espinal at the plate in Saturday's game.

3/30/24 Nationals rally with 3 in ninth to edge Reds. Keibert Ruiz homered in the eighth and drove in the go-ahead run in the ninth when he was hit by a pitch as the Washington Nationals rallied for three runs in the ninth in a 7-6 win over the host Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. For the second time in as many games, Nick Martini was poised to play the role of hero, connecting for a pinch-hit, go-ahead two-run double in the eighth inning to put Cincinnati up 6-4. Ruiz had tied the game 4-4 in the eighth with a solo homer off reliever Lucas Sims deep to the Nationals bullpen in right field.

12/21/23 Washington Nationals news & notes: Keibert Ruiz, CS% and more…. Keibert Ruiz, acquired by the Nationals in the Max Scherzer/Trea Turner trade with the Dodgers at the trade deadline in 2021, jumped at the opportunity to sign a long-term extension with Washington when the club made an offer last spring. “But we waited a little bit,” Ruiz laughed. Anointing him the No. 1 backstop in D.C. soon after he was acquired, the Nationals threw the young backstop right into the proverbial fire, bringing him back up to the majors just a month after the deadline. “We brought him up early in his career,” Nationals' GM and President of Baseball Ops Mike Rizzo told reporters in the press conference announcing the extension.
