4/29/25 Chargers Make Announcement Regarding Rookie RB Omarion Hampton. The Los Angeles Chargers added another offensive weapon for quarterback Justin Herbert with their first-round selection in the 2025 NFL draft, picking North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton with the No. 22 overall pick in the selection process. On Tuesday, the Chargers announced the jersey numbers for each of the team's rookie additions — starting with Hampton. Hampton, who wore the No. 28 throughout his collegiate career with the Tar Heels, will begin his NFL career wearing the No. 8.

4/29/25 Chargers strengthened the offense around Justin Herbert ... but is it enough?. Kris Rhim is a reporter for NFL Nation at ESPN. Kris covers the Los Angeles Chargers, including coach Jim Harbaugh's franchise-altering first season (https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/41068072/los-angeles-chargers-2024-preview-jim-harbaugh-culture). 4/28/25 Chargers rookie lands bold prediction that should excite Justin Herbert. The Los Angeles Chargers had plenty of business to take care of in the NFL draft, and for the most part, they did a fine job of addressing it. The Chargers entered the draft with some very pressing offensive needs, specifically in terms of finding more weapons for Justin Herbert. 4/28/25 Chargers heavily disrespected in post-NFL draft power rankings. The Los Angeles Chargers definitely improved their roster in the NFL Draft, filling some very obvious holes and adding some intriguing weapons for quarterback Justin Herbert. Well, in the newest set of Pro Football Network's power rankings, Los Angeles came in at No. 12, and here's the catch: the Chargers were two spots behind the Denver Broncos.

4/26/25 Grading Chargers' third-round selection of defensive tackle Jamaree Caldwell. After taking two offensive playmakers to give Justin Herbert some help in the coming season, the Los Angeles Chargers switched their focus to the biggest area of weakness, the defensive line, and found a player who could have an immediate impact. Jamaree Caldwell was taken with the No. 86 overall selection in the draft. A space eater in every sense of the word, Caldwell could be a true nose tackle for the team, something Jim Harbaugh will covet on defense this season. With the defensive line having a projected starting lineup of Otito Ogbinnia, Teair Tart and Da'Shawn Hand prior to the start of the draft, it was clear that the team needed more help.
