4/22/24 How Jake Cave helped the Phillies' Brandon Marsh to be ready as he pushes to play every day. Last April, Brandon Marsh asked Jake Cave about his pinch-hitting routine. Cave and Marsh were part-time Phillies outfielders. The left-handed hitters took the majority of their at-bats against righties. The 31-year-old Cave, who was traded to the Rockies in late March and is in the midst of his seventh big league season, was eager to help.

4/12/24 Bohm, Marsh, Stott all homer in support of Suarez as Phillies beat Pirates. Brandon Marsh and Bryson Stott hit two-run homers and Alec Bohm added a solo shot to prove manager Rob Thomson prophetic that his slumping homer-happy team would start going deep as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-1 on Thursday night. “The slug will come,” Marsh said. Ranger Suárez (2-0) struck out eight over six shutout innings to help the Phillies win the opener of a season-high, 10-game homestand that included four with the Pirates, and three games each against the Colorado Rockies and Chicago White Sox.

4/10/24 Brandon Marsh's 'great at-bats' continue as the Phillies win their series over the Cardinals. Brandon Marsh knew it when he saw it. All day Wednesday, the Cardinals pitched him away. If 12 games aren't enough to make a mountain out of the molehill of a start for most Phillies hitters, it's also premature to declare that their 26-year-old left fielder is poised for a breakthrough season. “He's really coming on,” manager Rob Thomson said before the Phillies completed a 4-2 road trip, explaining why he nudged Marsh up two spots in the batting order to No. 6.
