4/08/24 Padres' Ha-Seong Kim aims to put bad day behind him vs. Cubs. San Diego Padres manager Mike Shildt said he'll trust shortstop Ha-Seong Kim any day of the week defensively. Kim and San Diego will hope for a better result Monday night when the Chicago Cubs come to town to start a three-game series. Kim's wild throw led to the Giants' first run in the sixth inning, and he dropped the ball in the eighth as he tagged Jorge Soler for what would have been an inning-ending double play.

4/07/24 Late rally awakens SF Giants offense for comeback win against Padres. The baseball popped out of Ha-Seong Kim's glove and breathed new life into the Giants' stagnant offense. The Padres shortstop failed to place the tag on Jorge Soler as he slid into second base, and moments later, the big-bodied designated hitter was chugging across home plate after a Matt Chapman single to score the go-ahead run in a hard-nosed 3-2 win Sunday afternoon in the rubber game against the NL West foes.

3/25/24 10 highlights of SF Giants' 2024 schedule: Rickwood Classic, Judge and Ohtani visit Oracle Park, final Bay Bridge series?. Beginning the season with a divisional gauntlet, there's no shortage of interesting story lines to follow on the Giants' schedule this season. The Giants leave the West Coast just once during the first month of the season, starting with 10 straight games against NL West foes that culminates in the season-opening home stand against the Padres, which comes with all sorts of subplots: new manager Bob Melvin welcoming his old team to his new city; the possibility of Jung Hoo Lee stepping into the batter's box against his brother in law, Padres reliever Woo-Suk Go; the start of a rivalry, or the seeds of a future partnership, between Lee and fellow Korean star Ha-Seong Kim.

3/21/24 San Diego Padres: The Shortstop with the Tall Order. The Padres opened the 2024 season against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, and emerging from the dugout of Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome was shortstop and native son Ha-Seong Kim. It didn't seem it would be that way after his first year in San Diego, not after batting a paltry .202 in 117 games. For the 2022 season, Kim was thrust into starting duties after then-shortstop Fernando Tatís broke his hand and was later suspended for steroid use. The consistent playing time allowed Kim to establish himself, and he raised his batting average almost 50 points and provided excellent, versatile defense.

3/19/24 MLB Regular Season Games are Hours Away. While the majority of Major League Baseball awaits Opening Day on March 28, the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers will begin their regular season in a matter of hours.
