As much as he may have been poked, prodded, or straightup challenged by sharp questions over the last two-plus years, Phillies manager Rob Thomson stubbornly refused to change his usual lineup in any fundamental way. Sure, Schwarber produced. This season has been different with Thomson, starting a week ago in St. Louis, when he put Bryson Stott at the top of the order, followed by Turner and then Bryce Harper, with Schwarber hitting fourth to protect Harper. 4/16/25 | Phillies Notebook: Healthy again, Bryson Stott gradually returning to form. Phillies manager Rob Thomson gave second baseman Bryson Stott a night off from the starting lineup Wednesday, seeing an opportunity to use righty Edmundo Sosa against San Francisco Giants southpaw Robbie Ray. Entering the game, they were hitting just .167 against him. Righties weren't doing much better (.175), but Sosa came in hitting .444 overall and .357 against lefties.
