4/27/24 Angels’ Zach Neto has been relaxed at the plate, getting better results. Neto, who says he’s been trying to go at 85% effort in order to keep loose, had eight hits in 13 at-bats in the four games leading up to Saturday, when the Angels moved him up from No. 9 to No. 2 in the order.

4/20/24 Angels SS Zach Neto's day off is short-lived. Angels manager Ron Washington decided to give Zach Neto a rest Saturday as the young shortstop continues to struggle at the plate, but it didn't last long. Washington, who said before Saturday's game against the Reds that he wouldn't hesitate to bring Neto off the bench in the right situation, had it happen on the first play of the game when Angels leadoff hitter Anthony Rendon injured his hamstring legging out an infield single. Neto came in to run for Rendon and scored the Angels' first run in a two-run first inning.

3/30/24 Chase Silseth: Up-And-Coming Dynasty Players. Welcome back for another installment of Up-and-Coming Dynasty players. Last week I talked about Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto and this week I'm sticking to the Angels organization as the spotlight falls on starting pitcher Chase Silseth. Right now, Silseth is rostered in 7% of Yahoo leagues and 4.5% of ESPN leagues while he's rostered in 65% of Fantrax leagues. When it comes to evaluating Silseth, looking at his past is not a good indicator of why I think he is an up-and-coming dynasty player. That is because if you look at his body of work in college and first season in the minors, there would be no reason to think he would have any success in the majors. In this case, it is looking at what he did last year with the Angels and a gut hunch. My gut is telling me that Silseth is a very under-the-radar player, one who I think will be a solid member of your pitching staff, especially in deep leagues.

3/23/24 Up-and-Coming Dynasty Players – Zach Neto. When the Los Angeles Angels drafted shortstop Zach Neto in 2022 with the 13th overall pick, some people may have thought it was a nice story of a kid being drafted out of Campbell University - a school that is not exactly known for sending players to the majors. But Neto is not just a nice story - and no team would waste a first-round pick on a nice story. Neto was a star for the Camels, finishing his three-year career with a .403/.500/.751 slash line with 27 homers, 108 RBI and 31 steals in 100 games and 475 plate appearances and helping lead the team to the NCAA tournament in 2021 and 2022. Little did people know, however, that within a year of being drafted, Neto would be playing shortstop for the Angels. The Fast Track After being drafted and signing with the Angels, Neto was assigned to High-A Tri-City, where he played in a total of seven games before moving up to Double-A Rocket City, where he slashed .320/.382/.492 with four home runs, 23 RBI and four steals. Neto started the 2023 season at Rocket City but was there for only seven games as he slashed .444/.559/.815 with three home runs and 10 RBI. Neto didn't even have time to find a place to sleep while at Triple-A Salt Lake City as his stint there lasted only four games before he was recalled to the majors by the Angels.  Less than a year after the draft, he was starting for the Angels after entering the season ranked as the 53rd best prospect by Baseball America, 89 by MLB.com and 47th by Baseball Prospectus

3/17/24 5 former Angels players whose spring performances are leaving fans with regret. While the Los Angeles Angels seem to be rounding into shape down at spring training, it is hard to ignore the fact that this offseason has been more about what has been lost. Thanks to some long-built organizational deficiencies and some less than timely injuries, 2023 seems to have marked the end of an era for trying to contend for a World Series title for the Angels. In fact, if some of these young guys like Zach Neto and Nolan Schanuel continue to progress, the Angels could make things downright interesting this season, especially in the AL Wild Card race. Just to make things interesting, this isn't going to be a list of free agents that left the Angels this offseason because, well, that would be boring at this point.

3/14/24 Angels Prospect Hints He Was Rushed to Majors Last Year. Angels Prospect Hints He Was Rushed to Majors Last Year The 24-year-old just needed a little more seasoning. Author: Kevin Skinner Publish date: Mar 14, 2024 2:00 PM EDT In this story: Los Angeles Angels Last season, the Angels elevated several young players to the major league level for their debuts. Zach Neto and Nolan Schanuel debuted after being drafted by the Angels in 2022 and 2023, respectively, and swam more than they sank. Jordyn Adams, 24, cannot say the same. While he also saw playing time at the major league level, the 2018 draftee struggled at the plate in 17 games. He recorded only one hit in 39 plate appearances. According to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register , Adams

3/06/24 Angels shortstop Zach Neto soaking up lessons this spring. The Angels' version of the Breakfast Club rises before dawn and takes the half field behind the batting cages not long after the sun rises. Angels shortstop Zach Neto is there to work on his defense, not taking for granted the skill that wowed observers in his standout rookie season of 2023. On hand to provide early-morning instruction is none other than new manager Ron Washington. 3/01/24 Angels young star's early spring performance bodes well for a potential breakout season. While it is important to remember that spring training numbers aren't usually all that predictive, getting off to a good start is strictly better than getting off to a crummy one. For the Los Angeles Angels' Zach Neto, he is certainly well on his way to doing just that. When the Angels drafted Neto with the 13th overall pick in the 2022, he was coming off a college career at Campbell University, where he put up video game-esque numbers. Neto rewarded the Angels' faith in him by blasting his way through the minor leagues and getting called up to the big leagues last April.

2/27/24 Zach Neto doubles, triples in Angels’ victory over Brewers. The Angels’ shortstop barely missed a home run in his first at-bat, settling for a double off the top of the fence. He also tripled, driving in two more runs in the 6-4 win.

9/29/23 Zach Neto reflects on first season with Angels after quick ascent to majors. Six months ago, the question lingering over Zach Neto was whether his exaggerated leg kick would work in the major leagues. Now, after more than 300 plate appearances in the majors, Neto said even he has had some moments of doubt. “There's been some thoughts of me maybe taking it off,” Neto said, adding that he had the idea “when it's not going good for me at the plate” and he felt the need to “try to switch the momentum up.” Neto entered the final weekend of the season hitting .222 with a .678 OPS and striking out in 23.4% of his plate appearances.
