7/26/10	Eugenio Velez said he did not see the Pat Burrell liner that drilled him in the head Saturday night because he was taking a sip from a cup of Gatorade the instant the ball zoomed into the dugout. Velez sustained a concussion but escaped with no skull fracture when the ball hit him just above the left ear. He underwent tests and spent the night at a local hospital before his discharge Sunday morning. Velez then joined the Giants for their flight home. The Giants placed Velez on the 15-day disabled list and recalled infielder Ryan Rohlinger from Triple-A Fresno.
7/20/10	Seeking increased flexibility on the bench, the Giants recalled outfielder-infielder Eugenio Velez from Triple-A Fresno on Monday and optioned right-hander Joe Martinez to that club.
5/20/10	The outfielder-infielder was told by Bochy and general manager Brian Sabean that he had been optioned to Triple-A Fresno to make room on the 25-man roster for second baseman Freddy Sanchez.
5/18/10	The club recalled infielder-outfielder Eugenio Velez from Triple-A Fresno. Velez was batting .186 following an 0-for-17 slide when he was demoted on May 7. He hit .292 in six games with Fresno.
5/08/10	The Giants' decision to option Eugenio Velez to Triple-A Fresno on Friday, to make room for reliever Denny Bautista.
