4/29/25 Astros get bad news on future with ace amid 1.22 ERA. The Houston Astros are very lucky to have Hunter Brown on their side this season. The 26-year-old has been dominant in the early stages of the campaign, throwing the baseball at an elite level with his 1.22 ERA and 0.84 WHIP. Brown, who is arbitration-eligible in 2026 but doesn't hit free agency until 2029, is someone the Astros want to keep around on a potential extension before he hits free agency. Brown is blossoming into one of the best pitchers in baseball, someone who would be better served to await a nine-figure payday in free agency than risk losing money on an in-season extension.

4/28/25 Top 100 Starting Pitchers: If It’s Hunter Brown, Keep The Sinker Down.

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful!

I had a few ledes that I could have run with this week, but ultimately, I went with Hunter Brown because he’s been downright dirty.

I mean…I knew he was on a heater, but this is pretty ridiculous.  Please, blog, may I have some more?

4/22/25 Benign Blue Jays offence wilts again as blowout loss in Houston extends losing streak. Facing the nastiness of Astros starter Hunter Brown, Monday was always going to be a tough ask for the Blue Jays offence to break out into some semblance of credible production. Facing Houston right-hander Brown and his skimpy 1.50 ERA, the Jays managed just a pair of hits all night — a pair of harmless singles that are a familiar output on too many occasions this season.

4/21/25 Hunter Brown stars again as Astros blank Jays. Hunter Brown extended his consecutive scoreless innings streak to 24 and the Houston Astros parlayed a four-run fifth inning into a 7-0 victory over the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. Brown (3-1) surrendered two hits and issued one walk while recording a season-high nine strikeouts over seven dominant innings. It marked his third consecutive scoreless start. Brown's streak of 24 shutout innings is the longest in the majors this season and the longest by an Astros starter since Cristian Javier strung together 25 1/3 scoreless innings in 2022.
