12/12/23 Traded Yankees veteran: I don't deserve 'thank you' video. Kyle Higashioka's 25 minutes on Tuesday's “Foul Territory” revealed a guy who was thankful for 15 years with the New York Yankees organization and humble about what he meant to fans and the organization. Among the money topics discussed, Higashioka was asked whether his former organization should play a “thank you” video when he returns to Yankee Stadium, a regular-season road trip that isn't scheduled for 2024. “I don't think so,” Higashioka said. Higashioka, 33, was traded Dec. 6 as part of a five-for-two package that included star outfielder Juan Soto.

11/03/23 Would a Yankees-Astros trade make sense this offseason?. As the Houston Astros transition to Yainier Diaz as the “main guy” at catcher next season, they also need to find a backup behind him. Could the New York Yankees, with four catchers on their 40-man roster, be a match? MLB Trade Rumors mentioned Kyle Higashioka as a potential fit if Houston opts for the trade route over free agency or re-signing 37-year-old Martin Maldonado.

10/27/23 Yankees willing to trade from this position group. Don't be surprised if the Yankees trade away a catcher this winter, possibly more than one. The Yankees are informing other clubs in trade talks that at least two of the catchers on their 40-man roster are available, per SNY's Andy Martino. Veteran Kyle Higashioka (the Yankees' longest-tenured player) and Ben Rortvedt are the backstops that could be moved.

10/02/23 With 2023 in the rear view, Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton makes a promise for '24. The Yankees, suitcases packed with bad memories, had just finished the season with a 5-2 loss to the Royals. Veteran catcher Kyle Higashioka, who has no place on the 2024 roster, closed the loop with teammates before moving on to the next chapter of his career. Michael Kay shook hands with Aaron Judge. On Saturday night the clubhouse TV, tuned to Texas' playoff clincher over Seattle, reminded the Yankees how empty October would be.

10/01/23 Kyle Higashioka reflects on Yankees career with future uncertain: 'It's not gonna last forever'. As Kyle Higashioka stood by his locker Saturday night, he tried to avoid a trip down memory lane. The game, a 5-2 Yankees win in the penultimate contest of the season, may have been Higashioka's last with the team. Higashioka, the Yankees' longest-tenured player, has been a part of the franchise since it used a seventh-round draft pick on the Edison High School product in 2008. A Huntington Beach, Calif. native, Higashioka made his debut in 2017 as a 26-year-old after nearly a decade in the minors.

8/16/23 Aaron Judge calls out Yankees as playoff hopes plummet. After Kyle Higashioka ended the top of the seventh inning of Monday night's blowout loss to the Braves with a double play, tossing his helmet as he returned to the dugout, Aaron Judge stood alone on the top step, leaning on the railing. Judge was the Yankees' designated hitter that day, so he had nowhere to be as his teammates trotted out to their positions. Rather than chatting with others in the dugout or retreating to the clubhouse, Judge didn't move for what must've been a minute, staring off into space. The Yankees went on to lose that game 11-3.
