Cardinals add INF Jose Barrero, option Thomas Saggese. The St. Louis Cardinals selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Jose Barrero from Triple-A Memphis on Monday and optioned infielder Thomas Saggese. To get Barrero on the 40-man roster, right-hander Ryan Loutos was designated for assignment. Barrero, 27, is set to make his Cardinals debut.
