Bryan Hudson was the roster casualty for the Dodgers signing Yoshinobu Yamamoto, whose 12-year, $325 million contract was finalized on December 27. Hudson was designated for assignment on that day to make room on the 40-man roster, then one week later was traded to the Brewers. The Dodgers on January 3 acquired minor league left-hander Justin Chambers plus a player to be named later or cash from Milwaukee in the deal. Hudson was a third-round pick of the Cubs in 2015, and after eight seasons in Chicago's minor leagues signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers last offseason. Hudson, 26, went 0-0 with a 7.27 ERA in six appearances for the Dodgers last season with seven strikeouts and four walks in 8 2/3 innings. The Athletic reports Milwaukee acquired Bryan Hudson from the Dodgers in exchange for Justin Chambers. The 27-year-old allowed seven earned runs in just under nine innings pitched last season.
