6/19/10Marlins transferred C John Baker from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
6/16/10Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said that the "best-case scenario" is that John Baker (elbow) will be able to return by mid-August. Baker won't need surgery, but he was told to rest his ailing right elbow for four weeks. There's still a good chance he'll return later this season, but he can safely be dropped in NL-only formats. Ronny Paulino, who is batting .303/.335/.421 this season, should do just fine in his absence. He's worthy of attention in NL-only and some deeper mixed formats, as well.

4/23/10The Marlins aren't committed to one catcher, as John Baker and Ronny Paulino have been sharing duties behind the plate. Entering Thursday's game, Baker was batting .317 in 11 games and Paulino was batting .261 in eight games.

"I had the MRI, and I've got to sit tight for three days," Baker said. "I've been on some medication, and I'm waiting for this thing to go away."
