Rutschman’s clutch double lifts Orioles to 3-2 win over Blue Jays and doubleheader sweep. Adley Rutschman doubled home the tiebreaking run in the bottom of the eighth inning, and the Baltimore Orioles completed a doubleheader sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-2 on Tuesday night. With Gunnar Henderson on second and one out, Rutschman lifted a drive to right off Jeff Hoffman (6-4) that Nathan Lukes tried to catch against the big wall in right field at Camden Yards. Lukes reached for the ball and initially seemed unsure of where it ended up, only to find it down at his feet.

Blue Jays DFA veteran Chad Green as the club's bullpen doors keep revolving. The moves came after the Orioles pasted Toronto in the first game of a split doubleheader. Dominguez, a right-hander, was available to the Blue Jays for the doubleheader's second game. Green spent his first seven seasons in the big leagues with the New York Yankees. In three years with the Blue Jays, the right-hander appeared in 109 games, including 53 in 2024, when Green recorded 17 saves.

Toronto Blue Jays catcher ends up pitching and he throws ridiculously slow. Toronto Blue Jays catcher Ali Sanchez probably wasn't expecting to find himself on the mound when he showed up to the ballpark on Tuesday. With Toronto down 14-4 in the eighth inning and not wanting to further tax their bullpen, they opted to put in Sanchez for the final inning of relief. One of Sanchez's pitches came in at just 35.3 miles per hour, or 56.8 kilometres per hour.

Blue Jays Make Multiple Crucial Roster Moves Ahead of Doubleheader Game Two. The Toronto Blue Jays have had an exceptional 2025 season so far, and despite a few bumps in the road, they have managed to keep their pace throughout July. As such, the Blue Jays have made two roster moves following their 16-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles in game one of their Tuesday doubleheader. The moves, as announced by Keegan Matheson of MLB.com, are reliever Paxton Schultz being activated, and southpaw starter Easton Lucas being optioned. Schultz was placed on the 15-day injured list previously due to right middle finger inflammation, and has been working his way back since.
