Phillies Acquire Rumored Red Sox Trade Target. With the Boston Red Sox in Minnesota for the team's last game before Major League Baseball's trade deadline on Thursday, a social media post from The New York Post's Jon Heyman connecting the Red Sox to Twins closer Jhoan Durán added a hint of intrigue to an eventual 13-1 Red Sox victory. With interest in acquiring Twins' All-Star starting pitcher Joe Ryan already long established, Heyman's post about the Red Sox's considering a trade for a closer of Durán's caliber seemed almost too good to be true. That fact was later reinforced when ESPN's Jeff Passan reported that the Philadelphia Phillies have acquired Durán in exchange for two of Philadelphia's top prospects, right-handed pitcher Mick Abel

Dodgers Make Massive Dustin May Announcement Amid Trade Rumors. The Los Angeles Dodgers might view Dustin May as a long-term solution for their starting rotation. Manager Dave Roberts told reporters in Cincinnati, including Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, that May will shift to the bullpen at least temporarily. The right-hander will be available for multi-inning relief outings starting Friday when the Dodgers visit the Tampa Bay Rays. The Dodgers are set to activate left-hander Blake Snell from the injured list Saturday in Tampa Bay, Roberts said, giving the Dodgers the (at least mostly) full starting rotation they have long envisioned.

Sean McAdam: Red Sox players have done their part; now, it's time for front office to do theirs. Shortstop Trevor Story, who had three hits including a homer in the Red Sox' win over Minnesota Wednesday, hopes that the team's play in recent weeks has convinced management they're worthy of investment at the trade deadline. From the last series of the first half to a demanding road trip coming out of the All-Star break, to a home series with the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers to a brief trip here, the Red Sox had a stretch of

Red Sox Polarizing Infielder Hints At Trade From Boston. There's just one day to go until the 2025 Major League Baseball trade deadline and a Boston Red Sox prospect already has hinted that he is expected to be moved. The trade deadline is going to pass on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET and one guy who has been talked about over the last few days is red-hot infielder Vaughn Grissom. Grissom came to the organization with many expecting him to be the team's starting second baseman, but illness and injuries slowed him down and he never quite got his footing last year. Entering Spring Training this season, there seemingly was a battle for the starting second base job and Kristian Campbell won it with Grissom starting the season with the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox.

Red Sox Make Huge Final Statement Before MLB Trade Deadline. Wednesday was the Boston Red Sox's final game before Thursday's MLB Trade Deadline, and they made the most of it. The Red Sox rocked the Minnesota Twins 13-1 in their series finale at Target Field, clinching their second straight series win. Led by Jarren Duran's three hits and four RBI, Boston pounded out 16 hits (including four homers) en route to a massive victory. It was easily the Red Sox's best offensive performance and most lopsided win of the second half.
