8/01/25 Despite Red Sox pursuit and botched tweets, Twins hold onto ace Joe Ryan. The Twins traded ten players off of their major-league roster this week, including each of their top five relievers, four position players (including Carlos Correa), and one rental starting pitcher. The most notable player the Twins kept — given that Byron Buxton was never getting dealt — is ace starting pitcher Joe Ryan, who was perhaps the best starter potentially available at the deadline. The Red Sox were reportedly in hot pursuit of Ryan, who would've complemented Garrett Crochet at the top of their rotation.

7/21/25 Willi Castro, a potential trade candidate, hopes to be Twin for life. Byron Buxton made news last week during the All-Star Game media day when, asked about the possibility of being traded, he replied that he couldn't be dealt. “I got a no trade clause,” the Twins' star said. “I'm a Minnesota Twin for the rest of my life, so that's the best feeling in the world knowing I get to walk into a clubhouse and it's going to say Twins for the rest of my life.” Utilityman Willi Castro sung a similar tune this week, though unlike Buxton, it's not as clear that he will get his wish.

Byron Buxton finishing with the first 30-homer, 30-steal season in Twins history isn't actually that bold of a prediction, as long as he stays healthy. 7/17/25 Twins' GM shuts down Byron Buxton trade rumors. The Minnesota Twins will return from the All-Star break in an odd spot. With a 47-49 record, they are still in the American League wild card race, and they have several players set to return from injury in the near future. One thing's for certain, though, and that's that Byron Buxton will not be on the move. If the Twins decide to sell, they have several players at their disposal that would command quite a bit of interest on the trade market.

7/15/25 Mets 'could seek' reunion via trade with beloved former outfielder. While the baseball world currently has its focus on the 2025 MLB All-Star Game (which takes place on July 15), as soon as this game ends and the regular season resumes, attention will turn toward the July 31 trade deadline. The New York Mets are going to be buyers and have several positions they could bolster as they prepare for the season's second half, with the most obvious being the starting pitcher and the bullpen. "Maybe the Mets could seek a reunion with Harrison Bader," Sanchez wrote in the article, after speaking about how Bader's teammate Byron Buxton (who many believed would be one of the Mets' top trade targets) spoke about how he intends to use his full no-trade clause if need be to remain in Minnesota for the rest of his career.
