7/25/25 What Could Tigers Trade to Pirates to Acquire Reliever David Bednar?. The Detroit Tigers have some clear needs to address ahead of the MLB trade deadline, with arguably their most pressing being in the bullpen. Tommy Kahnle, who was combining with Will Vest as the late-game duo for manager A.J. Hinch, recently surrendered nine runs in three appearances, recording only three outs total across the outings. Adding another late-game option to take pressure off of Kahnle and Vest is a must. Given their current spot in the standings, atop the American League Central with a healthy cushion over the Cleveland Guardians, the Tigers can afford to be aggressive on the trade market.

4/30/25 Colt Keith, Javier Ba´ez break through as Tigers salvage series finale vs. Astros. It was a rugged way to end a glorious month of baseball for the Tigers and maybe that's fitting for this baseball team. "This was important," said veteran reliever Tommy Kahnle, who got the final four outs Wednesday in the Tigers' series-salvaging 7-4 win over the Houston Astros at Daikin Park. It was huge win collectively for the Tigers in historical teams, first of all. 3/21/25 Could Detroit Tigers Add Name Value to Bullpen by Signing Free Agent All-Star?. The Detroit Tigers are just a few days away from kicking off their season, and for the most part, the roster has taken shape. Barring a few positional battles and depth questions, the Tigers have already given a fairly clear idea about how the roster will look by the time Opening Day rolls around. With still a couple of quality names available, however, perhaps Detroit could make a late addition to bolster things. With a lucrative deal for Tommy Kahnle, along with a nice contract for John Brebbia before bringing back fan favorite Andrew Chafin, no one knows better than manager A.J. Hinch the importance of a bullpen that can be relied upon to shut down games.
