7/23/25 Blue Jays Named Fit for Cardinals All-Star Pitcher Ahead of MLB Trade Deadline. The Toronto Blue Jays are a team that many people are going to be keeping a close eye on in the coming days. To prove those doubters wrong, the Blue Jays should be aggressively looking to upgrade their roster ahead of the MLB trade deadline next week. A lot of the focus for Toronto has been on the starting rotation, which needs reinforcements if they are going to remain atop the AL East. Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt and Kevin Gausman have regularly gotten the job done this season and have been reliable when taking the ball every time it is their turn to take the mound.

7/15/25 Blue Jays Listed Among Best Trade Fits for Marlins Star Pitcher Ahead of Deadline. The Toronto Blue Jays are heading into the 2025 MLB All-Star break on a little bit of a low note, losing three out of four games following their incredible 10-game winning streak. If Toronto wants to hold onto that spot and qualify for the postseason with an eye toward advancing beyond the ALWC for the first time since 2015, there is a clear need that has to be addressed: their starting pitching. The Blue Jays have had Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt and Kevin Gausman as workhorses anchoring the rotation to somewhat mixed results.

5/03/25 Toronto Blue Jays address pitching depth with two free-agent signings. Toronto Blue Jays management was well aware of the fact that something needed to be done concerning their starting rotation. On paper, the Jays opened the season with a reasonable five-man rotation that featured Jose Berrios, Kevin Gausman, Chris Bassitt, Bowden Francis, and Max Scherzer. Scherzer has pitched just three innings due to injury, while Gausman and Francis have both struggled with consistency.

5/01/25 Fresh off big rally, Blue Jays seek series win vs. Red Sox. Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios likely would accept a repeat performance of his previous outing against the Boston Red Sox when the clubs meet in the rubber match of a three-game series in Toronto on Thursday night. Berrios allowed one run and four hits over seven innings on April 7 at Fenway Park in a 6-2 victory over the Red Sox. Toronto will be riding a high after overcoming a six-run deficit on Tuesday night to win 7-6 in 10 innings and even the series.

Jose Berrios is making the most of his time as he and the Toronto Blue Jays are in New York for a three-game series versus the Yankees. Berrios who pitched in yesterday's 4-2 victory, had a rather unusual off day on Thursday, opting to do work on his pitching routine in Central Park. The 30-year-old, along with bullpen catcher Luis Hurtado, chose the scenic area to work on his arsenal. The routine wound up working well for Berrios, who went 5.1 innings in Friday's win, giving up zero earned runs while racking up four strikeouts.
