8/02/25 | Angels Reversed Course on Trade Deadline Selling After Winning One Game, Says Insider. 8/01/25 | Angels Notes: Halos Make One Trade, GM Speaks on Quiet Deadline, AL West Rivals Go All In. The Los Angeles Angels had a fairly quiet deadline after obtaining relievers Luis Garcia and Andrew Chafin on Wednesday, making just one trade on Thursday. The Halos brought in Oswald Peraza from the New York Yankees with time ticking down on Thursday, and DFA'd Kevin Newman in a corresponding move. General manager Perry Minasian defended the Angels' quiet deadline, stating he wanted to keep the team together that had gotten the Angels this far. “We're obviously really competitive," he said. "I wanted to keep this group together." While the Angels had a quiet deadline, the rest of their division was active on Thursday. The Athletics moved Mason Miller, bringing in a haul of prospects which all Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/angels/angels-news/angels-n... |
7/31/25 | 5 former Angels to bring back to Anaheim at trade deadline. The Angels announced their presence as buyers at the MLB trade deadline with their trade for Luis Garcia and Andrew Chafin. While that partially fixes their bullpen woes, this team is more than two reliable veteran bullpen options away from making the playoffs. With Garcia returning to Anaheim, these five players could be perfect fits for homecomings as well as the Halos attempt to pull off a miracle. 6/30/25 | Former Angels Reliever Shockingly Cut By Dodgers. The Los Angeles Dodgers designated former Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher Luis Garcia for assignment to make room for right-handed pitcher Noah Davis on Sunday. The Angels received Garcia after the 2018 season from the Philadelphia Phillies, and kept him through 2019. After 2019, Garcia declared free agency and signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/angels/angels-news/former-a... |
6/26/25 | Dodgers activate RHP Luis Garcia from injured list. The Los Angeles Dodgers activated reliever Luis Garcia from the injured list and optioned fellow right-hander Will Klein to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday. Garcia, 38, has not pitched since May 27 because of a right adductor strain. He has appeared in 26 games this season and is 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA, striking out 23 batters in 26 innings. The Dodgers are his seventh team since he debuted in 2013, and he has a career 28-28 record with a 4.16 ERA in 571 games (four starts). Klein threw two scoreless innings in the Dodgers' 8-1 win over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday, giving up two hits and striking out three. 6/21/25 | Dodgers Injured Pitcher Says He's 'Good to Go'. Los Angeles Dodgers veteran relief pitcher Luis Garcia took another step in his recovery from a right adductor strain, throwing live batting practice to Dodgers rookies Hyeseong Kim and Dalton Rushing. 6/01/25 | Dodgers Reliever Going on Injured List in Shocking Update. The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed a 15th pitcher on the injured list as right-hander Luis Garcia was moved to the IL on Sunday. Garcia has appeared in 26 contests with a 4.50 ERA this season, allowing 13 runs in 26 innings of work. With the recent news that right-hander Noah Davis had a locker in the clubhouse, this brutal move for Garcia insinuates that the reason Davis was in L.A. was to shelve another arm. The Boston Red Sox could have as many as 11 players from their 2024 roster hitting free agency this offseason, including relief pitcher Luis Garcia. 8/02/24 | Recent trade acquisition happy to join Red Sox, with hopes of a playoff run. In 12 seasons in the big leagues, Luis Garcia has taken part in the postseason just twice — once with St. Louis in 2021 and again with the San Diego Padres in 2022. Now that he's a member of the Red Sox, having been dealt to Boston from the Los Angeles Angels minutes before the trade deadline Tuesday, he sees a chance to get back to playing in October again. 6/13/24 | Angels GM Perry Minasian will face tough decisions at trade deadline. Angels general manager Perry Minasian said it's to early to talk about the trade deadline, which means it's definitely too early to talk about 2025. The Angels have several players who will be free agents at the end of the season – like relievers Carlos Estévez and Luis Garcia – and any of those could be traded. The more difficult decisions for Minasian will be what to do with players who are still under control for 2025 and beyond. Left-hander Tyler Anderson, infielder Luis Rengifo and outfielder Taylor Ward are all having good enough seasons to be attractive to some contenders. 6/01/24 | Angels reliever Luis Garcia has bounced back from a rough start. Garcia didn't retire any of the four hitters he faced in his season debut, but he's become a reliable reliever since, having retired 15 of his last 16 batters. Source: https://www.ocregister.com/2024/06/01/angels-relie... |

1/28/24 | 1 Angels weakness fans should be more concerned with. The Los Angeles Angels have done an exceptional job addressing one of, if not their biggest weakness entering the offseason, their bullpen. The Angels once again had one of the worst bullpens in the majors this past season, and needed to do a whole lot to fix that. The offseason started in disappointing fashion with the Angels signing Luis Garcia, Adam Cimber, and Adam Kolarek to cheap one-year deals, but those guys look like nothing more than depth pieces now, as the Angels brought in two of the best relievers available in Matt Moore and Robert Stephenson as they suddenly have turned their bullpen into arguably their biggest strength.
