The Cincinnati Reds have lost two straight games and are currently 52-49 and 3 1/2 games out of the National League Wild Card spot. Kiley McDaniel Jeff Passan from ESPN.com ranked their top 50 trade deadline candidates and two Reds pitchers were listed. Starting pitcher Nick Martinez was ranked 40th and closer Emilio Pagan was ranked 45th. Martinez, 34, who signed a qualifying offer with the Reds in the offseason is struggling this season.

ESPN's Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan wrote about the top 50 trade candidates and two members of the Reds' roster made the list: Nick Martinez and Emilio Pagan. Pagan was 46th on the list. The rankings were based on the value they'd bring in a trade. Martinez was 29th on the list. 6/19/25 INSTANT REACTION: Nick Martinez Struggles, Reds Fall to Twins 12-5. After catching a series of breaks in the first two games against the Minnesota Twins, especially when it came to two-out runs, the breaks did not go the Reds way Thursday afternoon in a 12-5 loss in the series finale. Reds right-hander Nick Martinez got the start and was quickly chased with seven earned runs allowed. The Reds' bullpen didn't help matters much the rest of the way, allowing five more earned runs in 6 1/3 innings pitched.
