7/31/25 Royals Trade Idea Lands $6 Million Gold Glover From Rival Twins. Time is ticking on the Kansas City Royals to make more impact moves. Thursday brings the Major League Baseball trade deadline at 5 p.m. CT. Kansas City made two minor acquisitions already, bringing in Adam Frazier and Randal Grichuk to add some veteran depth at second base and the outfield. Would Kansas City consider adding one more outfielder?

7/26/25 Dodgers Sign Former Pirates Top Prospect as Trade Deadline Nears. The Pittsburgh Pirates have been roundly criticized for their inability to develop position player prospects. Since their last postseason appearance in 2016, the Pirates have sent exactly two position players they drafted to the All-Star Game — Josh Bell and Adam Frazier — and none since 2021. This stretch of futility has extended into 2025 in spite of, not because of, the Pirates' draft position. In 2022, the Pirates drafted high school shortstop Termarr Johnson fourth overall; in 2021 they selected University of Louisville catcher Henry Davis with the first pick in the draft.

7/21/25 Ben Cherington Addresses Pirates Trade Candidates. The Pittsburgh Pirates will have a busy MLB trade deadline on July 31, with players moving around and coming in. The Pirates currently hold the third worst record in baseball at 39-61 after 100 games and will most likely sell some of their best assets, which they believe will boost the team for the future. Pittsburgh already made one trade, as they sent utilityman Adam Frazier to the Kansas City Royals for Triple-A shortstop Cam Devanney on July 16. Frazier signed with the Pirates on a one-year deal and with the Pirates in the position they were in, a trade isn't surprising at all.

7/18/25 Royals rumors: Kansas City could still be trade deadline sellers after Adam Frazier. The MLB trade deadline is quickly approaching, and some teams are still seemingly deciding on of they will be buyers or sellers. On Friday, rumors ignited around the Kansas City Royals after insider Ken Rosenthal speculated the front office could be sellers at the deadline despite having already traded for Adam Frazier. During a guest appearance on “Foul Territory,” Rosenthal claimed that the Royals could opt to be sellers if the team struggles for the remainder of July. Considering the club is in third place in the NL Central and is 12.0 games behind the first-placed Detroit Tigers, it may make sense for Kansas City to approach the deadline as sellers and focus more on next season.

7/18/25 Royals Predicted To Cut Ties With 10-Year Veteran Star At Trade Deadline. Decision day is approaching faster and faster for the Kansas City Royals. With the trade deadline looming on Jul. 31, the Royals have to decide whether to buy, sell, or somewhere in between. The Royals' inclination all along has been to buy, and their minor trade acquisition (or more accurately, reacquisition) of Adam Frazier shows that's still on their minds. Ultimately, The Athletic's Zack Meisel believes the Royals will be forced to sell.

7/17/25 Former Padres Trade Deadline Acquisition Dealt to AL Contender. Former San Diego Padres utility man Adam Frazier is returning to the Kansas City Royals, who acquired him via a trade from the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Royals sent the Pirates minor leaguer Cam Devanney in a straight swap. Frazier is playing his 10th MLB season, and will enter his second spell in two years with the Royals.

6/27/25 Tigers trade proposal lands All-Star outfielder for much-needed depth. The Detroit Tigers are the top team in baseball, but there are still ways to improve the roster. While not a major need, adding outfield depth is something the Tigers should consider at the MLB trade deadline. If the Tigers don't want to spend a fortune on a top player, Zachary Howell of Clutch Points proposed a trade for Detroit with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Howell's trade proposal would have the Pirates sending outfielder Adam Frazier to the Tigers for 25th 25th-ranked prospect, outfielder Justice Bigbee.

6/24/25 Pirates Alter Lineup vs. Brewers. The Pittsburgh Pirates altered their lineup ahead of their second game vs. the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. Adam Frazier will play left field and bat seventh, after not starting the past two games for the Pirates. Pham also tied his season-high of three hits in the 8-3 victory over the Texas Rangers in the series finale at PNC Park on June 22, with three RBIs as well. Frazier will make his 10th start in left field, as he's moved to the outfield following Nick Gonzales' return to second base after his long bout with an ankle injury.

Adam Frazier and Andrew McCutchen each had three hits and an RBI, and Bryan Reynolds had two hits including a bases-clearing triple to help the host Pittsburgh Pirates top the Miami Marlins 10-3 on Monday night. The Pirates extended their season-high winning streak to four in a row after a weather delay of 41 minutes prior to first pitch. Every starter in Pittsburgh's lineup had at least one hit as the Pirates had 15 overall, although only four were extra-base hits and none were home runs.

5/23/25 Adam Frazier scores on wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th to lift the Pirates past the Brewers 6-5. Adam Frazier sprinted home from third on a wild pitch by Abner Uribe in the 10th inning to lift the Pittsburgh Pirates past the Milwaukee Brewers 6-5 on Friday night. The Pirates tied it on an RBI single by Alexander Canario off Uribe (2-1) earlier in the inning. Canario had a chance to win it on a single by Isiah Kiner-Falefa, but was called out at the plate when home plate umpire Mark Wegner ruled Canario had slid outside the baseline to avoid catcher William Contreras' tag.

5/21/25 Andrew Heaney and Pirates' bullpen shut down Reds. Adam Frazier and Henry Davis each had two hits and an RBI, backing up a strong start from Andrew Heaney and helping the host Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon. The Pirates put together back-to-back wins and won a series for the first time since April 22-23 against the Los Angeles Angels. The Reds dropped back-to-back games after winning five in a row. Pittsburgh triumphed once again in a low-scoring pitcher's duel as Heaney (3-3) gave up one run on three hits and two walks and struck out four in five innings.

5/11/25 Joey Bart's hard ground ball in the bottom of the ninth inning gives Pirates a 4-3 win over Braves. 4/22/25 Pirates Bat Past Angels in Victory. The Pittsburgh Pirates had their best offensive game of the season and defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 9-3 at Angels Park in Anaheim, Calif. The Pirates end a three-game losing streak, as they suffered a sweep at home vs. the Cleveland Guardians this past weekend, improving to 9-15 on the season. It also marks the third win on the road this season, as they defeated the Miami Marlins 4-3 on March 28 and the Tampa Bay Rays 4-2 on April 2. The Pirates had their first scoring opportunity in the second inning, as second baseman Adam Frazier singled, left fielder Tommy Pham reached first base on a single an then shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa walked, loading the bases with two outs.
