7/29/25 | Brewers Superstar Turned Back Clock To 2019. The Milwaukee Brewers entered the 2025 Major League Baseball season looking for some more power in the middle of the lineup. When you lose a guy like Willy Adames who smashed 32 home runs and drove in 112 runs last year, you have to find a way to get that offense back. Milwaukee didn't go out and make flashy moves, outside of the trade to send Devin Williams to the New York Yankees which did net everyday third baseman Caleb Durbin. The Brewers still could use some more power ahead of the trade deadline, but the club has done a good job finding ways to replace Adames and one person who specifically has done a good job is Christian Yelich. 7/26/25 | Brewers Prospect Listed As Trade Candidate With Deadline Looming. The Milwaukee Brewers currently lead the National League Central and have the best record in the Senior Circuit. This comes after they lost both Willy Adames and Devin Williams last offseason. Milwaukee continues to truck along despite some major losses, and they have flourished under reigning NL Manager of the Year Pat Murphy. The deadline is less than a week away, and they have been linked to Eugenio Suarez, the top available third baseman. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/brewers/news-feed/brewers-p... |
7/22/25 | Cubs Unthinkably Find Themselves in Second-Place of NL Central. The Chicago Cubs are no longer leading the NL Central. For the first time since April 2, they are not in first place of their division. That has to feel like a gut punch for the Cubs, since they are in the midst of putting together one of their most exciting seasons in recent memory and the Milwaukee Brewers were at least supposed to be retooling things after losing Willy Adames in free agency and trading away star closer Devin Williams. 7/21/25 | Brewers 2025 MLB Draft Class Superlatives: Best Value, Fastest To Majors, and More. The Milwaukee Brewers 2025 Draft class is complete. Once again, they've added a stellar haul of talent to the organization that they can develop into the next generation of Brewers players. The Brewers had 22 picks this year in the 20 round Draft, courtesy of a Compensation pick for the loss of Willy Adames and a compensation pick for not signing Chris Levonas in last year's Draft. 7/19/25 | 1 Fatal flaw San Francisco Giants must address before 2025 MLB trade deadline. Despite hovering above .500, the 2025 San Francisco Giants have been hampered by a mediocre offense that consistently lags behind their elite pitching. As of mid-July, the Giants are scoring just 4.07 runs per game with a team slash line of .230/.309/.369. In other words, nearly every night the Giants are asking their arms to win low-scoring contests. Big-ticket free agent Willy Adames, signed to be a middle-order bat, is hitting just .224 with a .700 OPS. Source: https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/san-francisco-giants/... |
7/18/25 | Brewers Labeled 'Perfect Trade Partner' For Another NL Team. The Milwaukee Brewers have defied expectations this season. After losing stars WIlly Adames and Devin Williams in the offseason, Milwaukee is looking better than ever, within one game of the National League Central lead and outpacing predictions despite a modest budget. While many fans anticipated dominance from the Cincinnati Reds or a revamped Chicago Cubs (who have no doubt been impressive), Milwaukee's focus on player development and cost-effective signings has kept them in the race for the division title once again. 7/17/25 | Giants Made Most of Limited Bonus Pool Money in MLB Draft Class Haul. The San Francisco Giants had one of the smallest bonus pools to work with in the MLB draft because of exceeding the Competitive Balance Tax threshold in 2024 and signing Willy Adames in free agency after he rejected a qualifying offer. The Giants also forfeited their second- and fifth-round picks as a result of that contract, making the first draft class for new president of baseball operations Buster Posey a little more challenging to form. The resulting draft class haul is a bit top-heavy, with San Francisco receiving praise for selecting Tennessee infielder Gavin Kilen at No. 13 overall. 7/14/25 | MLB Draft Day 2: Who are the SF Giants adding to their prospect pool?. The Giants used their first two selections of the 2025 MLB draft on a pair of contact-oriented, middle-of-the-diamond position players by selecting Tennessee shortstop Gavin Kilen in the first round and Rutgers outfielder Trevor Cohen in the third round. On the draft's second day, San Francisco will have 16 picks from rounds 4-20. Along with not having a second-round pick, the Giants also will not have a fifth-round pick after signing Willy Adames to a seven-year, $182 million deal. 7/12/25 | Expensive Giants Star Finally Starting To Live Up To His Contract. The San Francisco Giants made one of the biggest splash signings of this past offseason when they shelled out a franchise-record-setting contract for star shortstop Willy Adames. The former Milwaukee Brewers slugger was one of the most sought-after free-agent shortstops in recent memory, possessing a potent combination of elite offense and defense. The Giants saw a true franchise cornerstone in Adames, but the first several months of the year resulted in their new superstar putting up less-than-stellar numbers at the plate. For whatever reason, he came out the gates extremely slow to start his tenure in the Bay, struggling more than just about anybody else in a San Francisco lineup that has had their issues this season. 7/12/25 | Has Rafael Devers' Back Injury Caused His Poor Giants Tenure?. The San Francisco Giants believed they were getting a difference maker this past offseason when they signed Willy Adames to a lucrative deal to become their shortstop of the future. Adames has struggled mightily during his first year in the Bay Area, looking like a shell of himself on both sides of the ball that started to make people feel nervous about his large contract. Thankfully, the slugger has gotten hot in the summer months and just reminded everyone of his ceiling as he played hero in Game 1 of their rivalry series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. 7/12/25 | Giants Star Willy Adames Reminds Everyone of His Ceiling During Win Over Dodgers. There was a lot of excitement this past offseason when the San Francisco Giants landed Willy Adames in free agency. Finally signing a coveted star player that other teams around the league were interested in acquiring, adding someone of his talent to this roster was being framed as the move that would allow the Giants to truly compete in the National League. Unfortunately, the success of San Francisco in the first half of this year has largely been in spite of the star slugger. It has not been a pretty beginning to Adames' tenure in the Bay Area, and many were beginning to worry that Buster Posey's first notable signing was going to be a flop. 7/11/25 | Willy Adames, Giants hand Dodgers 7th straight setback. Willy Adames drove in three runs with a triple and a home run, Dominic Smith added a solo homer and the host San Francisco Giants continued the Los Angeles Dodgers' misery with an 8-7 victory in the opener of a three-game series Friday night. Jung Hoo Lee also had three RBIs and Matt Chapman scored twice for the Giants, who have won seven of nine while trimming the Dodgers' lead in the National League West from nine games to four. Shohei Ohtani launched a home run into the San Francisco Bay, his 32nd of the season, and Michael Conforto also homered for the Dodgers, who lost their seventh straight. 7/08/25 | Brewers OF Christian Yelich Likely To Break 6-Year Drought. The Milwaukee Brewers entered the 2025 Major League Baseball season looking for a way to fill Willy Adames' production. Adames was great for Milwaukee last year. In his final season with the club, he racked up 32 home runs, 112 RBIs, and slashed .251/.331/.462 in 161 games played. Adames left the club in free agency leaving the Brewers with a lot of offense to find. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/brewers/news-feed/brewers-o... |
7/08/25 | Giants Are in Good Hands With 'Fearless' Buster Posey Leading Front Office. The San Francisco Giants have been one of the feel-good stories in the MLB during the first half of the 2025 season. Over that stretch, they have the second-fewest runs scored in the National League. Shortstop Willy Adames, who was signed in free agency, has struggled all season. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/giants/san-francisco-giants... |
7/07/25 | Adames stays hot, Giants beat Athletics 6-2. Willy Adames homered and drew a pair of bases-loaded walks, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Athletics 6-2 on Sunday night. Tyler Fitzgerald also hit a solo homer, and Rafael Devers and Wilmer Flores each had two hits to help back an uneven but effective outing by San Francisco starter Hayden Birdsong. One night after setting a season high with four RBIs , Adames stayed hot at the plate to help the Giants take two of three from their former Bay Area rivals. 7/07/25 | Is Embattled San Francisco Giants Superstar Turning Offensive Corner?. The San Francisco Giants had to go out and make a major trade to bolster their offense in part because of the struggles of Willy Adames. Willy Adames had three hits and four RBIs to back a strong start by Logan Webb and the San Francisco Giants beat the Athletics 7-2 on Saturday night. Webb (8-6) gave up two runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings to move to 4-0 in five career starts against the Athletics. Randy RodrÃguez got the final out in the seventh and Tyler Rogers and Spencer Bivens each pitched a scoreless inning to close it out as the Giants won for the third time in four games. 7/02/25 | Giants Should Attempt To Acquire This Slugging Second Baseman at Trade Deadline. Coming into the 2025 season, the infield of the San Francisco Giants appeared to be set. With the notable addition of Willy Adames, the team was able to slide Tyler Fitzgerald to second after his breakout performance in 2024 to keep him in the lineup. Although they acquired Rafael Devers, the offense hasn't been able to stop their skid. One glaring weakness that's been apparent throughout this campaign has been second base.
