8/01/25	How MLB Expert Graded Red Sox Trade Deadline. After the MLB trade deadline, there have been varying opinions on how the Boston Red Sox did. The Athletic's Jim Bowden handed the Red Sox a C-, the lowest grade in the American League East. The grade included the Rafael Devers trade in June, which didn't seem to help Boston get a higher grade, but also didn't hurt it. “Let's start with the shocking blockbuster in mid-June: I didn't think the Red Sox got enough in return for Rafael Devers, and believe they should have waited until the trade deadline to make the move, but I also understand they shed his massive contract and have played much better since the trade,” Bowden wrote. 7/26/25	Devers' defensive growing pains on display SF Giants drop series to Mets. There were always going to be growing pains for Rafael Devers at first base. Devers committed an error along with several miscues in his third career game at first base as the Giants lost 2-1 to the New York Mets, one of which set the stage for New York's Mark Vientos to hit a go-ahead, two-run double in the sixth. Robbie Ray took the loss as he allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings with three walks to three strikeouts.
