6/20/25 Former Rangers Veteran Reliever Signs With Historically Successful KBO Team. The Texas Rangers have had a tough start to their 2025 campaign, with their record sitting at 36-39 after their game on June 19. This is certainly not where the team wanted to be when it comes to the first few months, and it seems as though they have not really gained much momentum despite a plethora of roster changes being made over the early portion of the year. One of the roster changes they ended up making was releasing veteran reliever Gerson Garabito. In what was his last stint with the Rangers, he made three appearances and put together a 9.00 ERA and 2.000 WHIP, allowing 15 hits, one home run while striking out eight batters in 8.0 innings pitched.

6/15/25 Texas Rangers Release Reliever Eyeing New Opportunity in Korea. The Texas Rangers have had quite a few roster changes in the past few weeks, between injury, recalls, and just general moves to shuffle things up. According to a report from Kennedi Landry of MLB.com, reliever Gerson Garabito was released from the team and will now look to pursue an opportunity with a Korean club. Garabito has made 21 MLB appearances, all with Texas.

6/15/25 Texas Rangers right-hander set to take pitching opportunity in Korea. As the Rangers scramble to backfill some pitching needs, they will do so without one of their previous options. Right-hander Gerson Garabito, who has made appearances in each of the last two years, will be leaving the organization to head to a pitching opportunity in Korea, a person with direct knowledge of the move told The Dallas Morning News. Garabito, 29, was on the 40-man roster, so it will create an opening on the roster if the Rangers want to add another pitcher.

3/13/25 Texas Rangers option Gerson Garabito, two others to minor leagues. The Rangers may suddenly have some extra competition for a rotation spot and perhaps an extra long-reliever, but Gerson Garabito appears to have been eliminated from it. Garabito, who appeared in 18 games and made two starts for the Rangers last year, was one of three players shipped off to the minor league side Thursday morning. Garabito, however, still pitched in Thursday's exhibition at San Francisco. Garabito, 29, and infielder Jonathan Ornelas were optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.

8/12/24 Texas Rangers run out of high-leverage arms in Boston, costing them in extras. The Texas Rangers, in the midst of a fight for their competitive lives, had to leave the fate of a stretch-run game in the hands of, uh, Gerson Garabito and Walter Pennington. “Well,” Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said. At least Texas met that baseline requirement. The Rangers — caught in the midst of a pitching-strapped hole — ran out of high-leverage arms in their 5-4 extra innings loss to the Boston Red Sox on Monday at Fenway Park.
