6/18/25 Giants trade pitch solves first base problem with $10.9 million slugger from division rival. The San Francisco Giants have yet to entirely solve first base. LaMonte Wade Jr. was supposed to hold down that spot this season, but he's not even with the organization any longer after immense struggles. Rafael Devers could start to learn the spot, and Bryce Eldridge could eventually be called up. The Arizona Diamondbacks have been rumored to be shopping Josh Naylor.

6/14/25 2 difficult roster decisions Angels must address as soon as possible. Angels must address this difficult roster decision as soon as possible What is to be done with this guy? By Evan Roberts | Share on Facebook Share on X Copy Article Los Angeles Angels v Houston Astros | Alex Slitz/GettyImages Share on Facebook Share on X Share on Reddit Copy Article The Angels have a relatively fungible roster around the margins, as evidenced by Perry Minasian going out and grabbing players like Lamonte Wade Jr., Chris Taylor and Hunter Strickland midseason and also constantly shuffling relievers around. Minasian's team is in an enviable spot right now of not needing to make a monumental roster decision in the wake of an injury or because a critically important member of the

6/01/25 Giants Legend Gives His Blunt Assessment of First Base Production. The San Francisco Giants' struggles at the plate have been well documented over the first two months of the 2025 season, as the team has dealt with a serious lack of production at key spots in the lineup. One spot in particular has been a bigger sore spot than others has been first base, where veteran slugger LaMonte Wade Jr. has been the starter over the last three seasons. After two solid years at the plate in 2023 and 2024, Wade has seen his numbers plummet in 2025. According to NBC Sports Bay Area's Nick Avila, Posey recently went on a local sports radio talk show on KNBR 680 AM and was asked about Wade's lackluster numbers at the dish, a question of which Posey had a very blunt response.

5/30/25 Struggling Slugger Has Been Least Valuable Player for Giants This Season. The San Francisco Giants have been playing very well this season despite a recent sweep at the hands of the Detroit Tigers. The Giants are a team that has been built on pitching well and playing good defense. While the starting rotation as a whole hasn't been elite, they do have a couple of good arms at the top of the unit. Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report recently wrote about first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. being the least valuable player for the team thus far.

5/29/25 Barry Tompkins: Striking out and striking it rich. It seems that while they are playing major league baseball — and doing quite well at it — they are hitting the ball like Little Leaguers. After all, I once  hit almost .300 for Fulton Playground in the San Francisco Park and Rec league. When baseball's started to bend when thrown I made LaMonte Wade, Patrick Bailey, and Willy Adames look like Willie Mays. Alas, every pitcher in the major leagues is now capable of throwing a ball at speeds that can create a sonic boom, and possesses a changeup that would keep my chiropractor in business for a decade.

5/14/25 SF Giants make some late noise, but are doomed by early pitching struggles. The San Francisco Giants loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning but could not get the decisive hit in an 8-7 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday at Oracle Park. LaMonte Wade Jr. then drew a walk to cut Arizona's lead to one, but Christian Koss flew out to center field to end the game.
