6/18/25 Padres' Mike Shildt Defends Players After Dodgers Call Them Out. The San Diego Padres dropped another intense battle with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night. The third inning is where Dodgers pitcher Lou Trivino first started the party, hitting superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. with a 95 mph sinker. In the bottom of the frame, Randy Vasquez hit Shohei Ohtani on the leg, causing quite the stir from Dodgers manager Dave Roberts when umpires issues warnings to both teams. Manager Mike Shildt spoke after the game on the intensity of the moment.

6/17/25 Dodgers' Dave Roberts gets tossed from Padres clash after Shohei Ohtani HBP. After watching their pitcher, Lou Trivino, peg Fernando Tatís Jr. with an errant ball to the back, the Los Angeles Dodgers had to know that a receipt was coming their way from their I-5 rivals. What they certainly didn't expect was for that receipt to come right at Shohei Ohtani's thigh, which caused manager Dave Roberts to take the field and passionately defend his star player. In this case, however, Roberts was tossed from the game by third plate umpire Tripp Gibson before he could even complain, which resulted in a pretty major blowup by the skipper with a referee he has history with this season.

6/10/25 Why Yankees shouldn't wait until trade deadline to upgrade at this position. Upgrading the bullpen ahead of the trade deadline is always on the Yankees' to-do list. De Los Santos lasted only five games with the Yankees and Leiter didn't pitch well, but he's shown how valuable he can be so far this year. Three years ago, the Yankees imported both Lou Trivino (part of the ill-fated Frankie Montas trade with the Athletics) and Scott Effross, also from the Cubs.

5/11/25 Former Giants Reliever Will Seek Revenge After Signing With Division Rival. The San Francisco Giants have had their former reliever scooped up by potentially the worst place possible. According to a report over the weekend from Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors, right-hander Lou Trivino came to terms and agreed upon a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 33-year-old did not stay available long, electing free agency entering the weekend after he cleared waivers following being designated for assignment by the Giants in a corresponding move after recalling Kyle Harrison. Less than 24 hours later, he winds up with the Dodgers organization with a chance for a fresh start after the season did not get off to a good start in the Bay Area for the veteran.

4/17/25 SF Giants' Trivino reflects on earning first victory since 2022. Lou Trivino didn't think it would mean much for him to earn his first win in three years. “It's a long time, so it's cool to be back in the stat column,” Trivino said after the Giants' 11-4 win on Wednesday. Bob Melvin, who managed Trivino with the Oakland A's, called on Trivino to provide much-needed equanimity in a tie ballgame after starter Robbie Ray allowed four earned runs over four innings. Trivino responded by throwing two scoreless innings, striking out two batters and allowing one lone hit.

9/14/24 These injured Yankees are still options for postseason pitching staff. A postseason roster crunch is looming for the Yankees and two injured pitchers are making a late-season push to get back to the big leagues. The Yankees may not need them as they craft their perfect postseason roster, but having more options this time of year is a good problem to have for any contender. Right-handers Lou Trivino and Cody Poteet are both in the final stages of their rehab assignments, still sidelined on the 60-day injured list. Trivino hasn't pitched since the playoffs in 2022, missing all of last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
