8/02/25 A frontrunner is beginning to emerge for Bears' starting left tackle. The Chicago Bears appear to have a problem on their hands concerning their offensive line, but it's a good problem: they have three players who could potentially start at left tackle and play the position well. Braxton Jones is the veteran, having spent the last three seasons as Chicago's starting left tackle. Kiran Amegadjie is in the middle of the three-way battle as he participates in his first NFL training camp, and rookie Ozzy Trapilo has impressed early, as well. Although head coach Ben Johnson insists that he won't rush his decision on the starting left tackle, one of these three seems to be in the lead for the job and that would be the rookie.

While the majority of the attention has focused on Caleb Williams and the offense, the Bears' defense could be its stronger unit heading into next season. The Bears have been participating in training camp without one of their best players on that side of the ball in cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who injured his leg earlier this offseason.

7/30/25 Titans' Cam Ward Receives Shockingly Low Madden Rating. When the newest edition of EA Sports' "Madden NFL" franchise rolls around each year, it's common for the No. 1 overall pick to be among the game's best rookies, if not the best. On Wednesday, EA Sports revealed that Ward's initial rating in "Madden NFL 26" is a paltry 72 overall, which ties him for 69th among all rookies and places him as the lowest-rated No. 1 pick in years. For comparison, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in 2024, started out at 76 overall in "Madden NFL 25."

7/30/25 Bears connected to major three-team trade involving Pro Bowl weapon. The Chicago Bears have worked very hard to put together a compelling cast of weapons around quarterback Caleb Williams, and it has many tabbing the Bears as playoff contenders heading into 2025. ESPN's Seth Walder poses the possibility and has concocted a three-team trade proposal involving the Bears, Los Angeles Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the deal, Chicago would ship out running back D'Andre Swift and a pair of Day 3 picks (fifth and sixth-rounders, specifically) and land Buccaneers halfback Rachaad White as well as a 2027 seventh-round draft choice from the Chargers.

7/29/25 Bears' Ben Johnson taking inspiration from Bill Belichick's Patriots. The Chicago Bears, at this point, could only dream of having the success that the New England Patriots had from 2000-20. Nine trips to the Super Bowl, including six championships, the greatest quarterback and coach of all time, and countless other elite players made it a special run of dominance. New Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson was able to witness some of that during his time with the Miami Dolphins, a division rival of the Patriots. From 2012-19, Johnson was an assistant coach in Miami, specializing in different positions each season.

7/28/25 All eyes on Luther Burden as he hits the field at Bears training camp. As the 39th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III has high expectations entering the league as a rookie. Despite being banged up to start training camp, Burden returned to the field on Monday. Back on May 20, on the first day of OTAs, Burden went down with a hamstring injury that he's been battling back from ever since. Now finally back on the field, the rookie's first day of training camp saw him participating in some individual drills, but no team drills yet.

7/28/25 Pro Football Focus: Caleb Williams made just one exceptional throw in 2024. Pro Football Focus (PFF) is one of the most widely cited sources when it comes to evaluating football players. It's no surprise to anyone that Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams received a poor final grade for his rookie season. What is surprising is that, according to PFF, only one of Williams' 744 passing plays earned an exceptional grade. Six of his passing plays logged a -1.5 or -2, however.
