On Thursday night, the Indianapolis Colts had what could be viewed as their dress rehearsal ahead of next week's joint practice and preseason kickoff with the Baltimore Ravens. Colts head coach Shane Steichen thought up an evening that would give the fans and the team a high school, Friday night lights vibe to it, and it did not disappoint. 7/31/25	Colts End Defender's Season, Sign Two Free Agents. Following recent injuries to their cornerback group, the Indianapolis Colts have made some roster moves. On Thursday, the team announced that they placed cornerback David Long Jr. (groin) on Injured Reserve, ending his season. They signed free-agent cornerbacks Tre Herndon and Duke Shelley, and also released tight end Albert Okwuegbunam to make space on the roster. Along with Long, Colts cornerbacks JuJu Brents and Jaylon Jones both suffered hamstring injuries this week. Herndon (29 years old, 5'11", 185) came into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he stayed until 2023. The Indianapolis Colts were back on the field at Grand Park Sports Campus Tuesday for practice No. 6, which was also their second fully-padded practice in a row. The physicality was there, but the quarterback play also remained strong as Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones stacked yet another encouraging performance. While not in pads, he was seen doing some individual work off to the side early in practice with his helmet on.
