8/02/25 Where Mike McDaniel and Staff Land in National Ranking. Mike McDaniel and the Miami Dolphins coaching staff have plenty to prove in 2025. While last season was the first time Miami failed to reach the playoffs in the McDaniel era, another campaign was added to the franchise's 25-year streak without a postseason win. Despite the high ceiling of McDaniel's offense, ESPN's Ben Solak believes that his staff is starting to lose some of its momentum. After ranking McDaniel and Miami's staff number 9 entering the 2024 season, Solak dropped McDaniel and company to 19th, just behind third-year head coach Shane Steichen and the Indianapolis Colts coaching staff.

8/02/25 Dolphins’ Zach Sieler has reason to celebrate the NFL's latest big new contract — even though the actual deal is not his to sign. There's a new highly-paid defensive lineman in the NFL this morning. His name is not Zach Sieler, which is a bummer for the Miami Dolphins' standout defender, as he's more than earned a new contract after out-performing the terms of his current deal with the team over the past few seasons. The new ...

8/02/25 Dolphins 2025 Camp: Practice 9 Recap. The Miami Dolphins were back at practice at the Baptist Health Training Complex on Saturday with a practice in front of members as they continue closing in on the first preseason week. The festivities this time began with the team's theme song blasting over the loudspeakers with the task of pumping up the crowd falling to rookie cornerbacks Jason Marshall Jr., Ethan Robinson and B.J. Adams. Tackle Austin Jackson and cornerback Cam Smith both missed practice, with Smith spotted working with a trainer on the side. Center Aaron Brewer was dressed for practice for the first time in training camp, though his participation understandably was limited.

8/01/25 ESPN writer swings and misses on a critique of Tua Tagovailoa while giving a mediocre ranking to the Miami Dolphins' coaching staff. The Miami Dolphins are set to begin what they hope is a major turnaround in 2025 after a disappointing 8-9 season a year ago. The Dolphins are a bit of an unknown commodity entering the year, with major questions on the back end of their defense, but with what appears to be an upgraded offensive ...

8/01/25 Dolphins predicted to sign $7M reliable veteran ballhawk with 32 INTs, labeled 'high-floor option'. The Miami Dolphins have had some of the worst luck in the secondary. Once again, they are urged to sign another CB, this time one that is aging.

8/01/25 Dolphins Make Roster Moves. The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have signed quarterback Brett Gabbert and placed cornerback Kader Kohou on the injured reserve list. Gabbert entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 22, 2025, and spent the offseason program with the team before being waived on July 22, 2025. He played collegiately at Miami (OH), where he started 53 games in six seasons (2019-24) and completed 778-of-1,331 passing attempts (58.5 pct.) for 10,814 yards and 80 touchdowns with 30 interceptions. Gabbert finished his career ranked second all-time among RedHawks quarterbacks in touchdown passes and third in passing yards. He also recorded 294 rushing attempts for 482 yards and

7/31/25 Dolphins Thursday Mailbag: Who's Been Hot and Not So Far in Camp?. Part 1 of a Miami Dolphins On SI mailbag at the halfway point between the start of camp and the joint practices: From Mark Lever: If the offense and defense played a game, who do you think would get more scores vs. stops? Weaver vs McDaniel, who is the better unit? Coach? Hey Mark, that's a very interesting question. First off, though, how do we define a “stop”? Not allowing more than 30 yards (offense starts at its 30, gains 30 yards, then has to punt from the opponent 40)? I'd say it's actually pretty close right now, but I'd give a slight advantage to the offense because of all the issues in the secondary. As for better coach, since this is specific to one side of the ball, I think McDaniel

7/31/25 Dolphins DB Looking For Bigger Role Amid Injuries. Miami Dolphins defensive back Elijah Campbell has spent most of his time as a special teams player in South Florida. Now, he has an opportunity to break through on defense with the injury of Ashtyn Davis. "Look, I look at myself as a DB, you know ... so special teams, I take pride in that as well," he said. Just as much as I play special teams, I play defense.

7/31/25 Why Ewers Still Happy with Career Decision. This was supposed to be the year former Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers broke the bank. Instead, Ewers is playing for the rookie minimum for the Miami Dolphins as a seventh-round pick. The contract Ewers signed with the Dolphins contained a guarantee of only his signing bonus of $131,576. Former University of Georgia quarterback Carson Beck was in the same position Ewers was in.

7/30/25 Dolphins Make Moves on Offensive Line. The Miami Dolphins made some roster moves late Wednesday afternoon, but they didn't involve cornerback Kader Kohou being placed on injured reserve — as head coach Mike McDaniel indicated will happen. Instead, the Dolphins swapped young unproven offensive tackles, signing Jalen McKenzie and placing Obinna Eze on the injured reserve list. Eze was signed just last week after fellow tackle Bayron Matos wound up in the hospital as the result of an injury he sustained in the first practice of camp — Matos is now out of the hospital. McKenzie has bounced around quite a bit since first entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022 but has yet to appear in a regular season game. Over the past three

7/29/25 Why Jack Jones Is Thankful for His Opportunity. New Miami Dolphins cornerback Jack Jones earned a roster spot on the New England Patriots as a fourth-round rookie in 2022, but three seasons later he understands that the clock is ticking to prove he still belongs in the NFL. After a strong start in New England, Jones went on to play for the Las Vegas Raiders and is now competing for a spot on the Dolphins' 53-man roster after signing with the team Saturday. “I feel like with the time I got, I shouldn't be on three teams in four years,” Jones told reporters on Monday. Jones, 27, had 69 tackles and three interceptions last season as the Raiders' top cornerback.

7/28/25 Newcomers Hilton, Gay, Jones share how they fit in Dolphins defensive scheme. Several of the newest Miami Dolphins defenders spoke to reporters on Monday, offering insight into how they fit into the team's evolving scheme and how they're adjusting to a new environment just days into training camp. Veteran cornerback Mike Hilton, one of two recent free-agent additions to help fill a banged-up secondary, said familiarity with head coach Mike McDaniel played a role in his decision to sign with Miami. “We played each other in '21 when they came to Cincinnati from San Francisco,” Hilton said. Hilton praised McDaniel's offensive mind, saying it's a challenge going up against a system designed to create mismatches and exploit space.
