8/01/25 Lots of scoring, Maye gets picked, and Stevenson's problem resurfaces in Patriots intra-team scrimmage. “Who can work with somebody maybe they didn't work in previous practices?” he said before the scrimmage began. Kuhr tapped Maye, linebacker Christian Elliss, and safety Jaylinn Hawkins; while Brown chose tight end Hunter Henry, special teamer Brenden Schooler, and safety Jabrill Peppers. Vice president of football operations and strategy John Streicher controlled the scoring, with White winning, 47-38. 2. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson has preached the importance of ball security after fumbling seven times last season, but it wasn't a great sign to see him get stripped in the first game-like setting of the season.

7/28/25 Hunter Henry Steadying Patriots Offense Through Change and Challenge. As the Patriots offense undergoes another transformation in 2025, one constant remains: Hunter Henry. Entering his fifth season in New England, Henry has been a reliable presence, emerging as a leader and stabilizing force amid two offseasons of significant organizational change. Since signing with the Patriots in 2021, Henry has totaled 199 receptions for 2,205 yards and 19 touchdowns across 64 games. In 2024, Henry set a career high with 66 receptions and 674 yards, tying Pop Douglas for the team lead.

7/23/25 Patriots New QB, WR Duo Already Impressing. New England Patriots tight end and two-time team captain Hunter Henry is no stranger to being a team leader. Accordingly, Henry's is among the first, and most notable, opinions which should be heeded heading into training camp — especially when weighing in on potential future team leaders. Less than 24 hours before the Pats' first training camp practice, Henry praised quarterback Drake Maye for organizing an early-July side session in Charlotte, NC to continue their training heading into camp.

7/19/25 Patriots Wide Receiver Issues Message To Critics On Instagram. The New England Patriots need to find production on the outside. Last season, the team ranked last in the league in total receiving yards. Almost half of the yards were to tight ends and running backs, with receivers accounting for about 53% of the total production. Hunter Henry led the team with 674 receiving yards.

7/17/25 Patriots' Once-Promising Weapon Now a Depressing Afterthought. The New England Patriots are actually pretty set at tight end heading into next season, as Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper comprise a very reliable duo. The problem is that the Patriots lack any sort of depth at the position. Bell was a non-factor in Year 1, logging just two catches on three targets for 20 yards.

7/17/25 5 rookies who should make an impact for Patriots this season. The Patriots saw what the correct moves in free agency can do for a team. In 2021, the team spent more money than any team in NFL history with a large group of veteran free agents. Some of the deals paid off with solid additions such as Matthew Judon, Hunter Henry , Kendrick Bourne, Davon Godchaux, and Jalen Mills. Other contracts – Jonnu Smith and Nelson Agholor – didn't pay off. However, the Patriots went from a 7-9 squad to a 10-7 playoff team. Of course, the Patriots also saw that building through free agency isn't sustainable. The team hasn't been to the playoffs since and is coming off back-to-back 4-win seasons. The primary reason for the Patriots' downfall has been poor drafting. Outside

7/13/25 New England Patriots tight end recognized by ESPN rankings. Despite a down 2024 season from the Patriots, Hunter Henry played well. “He's aging well because speed was never his game but he's just a good player with sure hands,” a league evaluator told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, who compiled the list. Going into his fifth season in New England, Henry is looking forward to teaming up with Josh McDaniels again.

7/09/25 Patriots Training Camp Preview: Tight Ends. The tight end position is once again expected to take center stage for the New England Patriots' offense in 2025. The Pats will once again feature team captain Hunter Henry at the top of the depth chart. In compiling 674 yards on 66 catches — two of which went for touchdowns — Henry has seemingly retained his role as quarterback Drake Maye's security-blanket pass catcher.

7/05/25 Patriots Could Lose Chance to Trade for Intriguing TE. The New England Patriots have largely revamped their offensive weaponry this offseason, adding significant pieces at both running back and wide receiver. The Patriots actually have a very solid pair of tight ends in Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper, the latter of whom re-signed with New England back in March. Both players developed a strong bond with quarterback Drake Maye in 2024, so the Pats understandably wanted to maintain the duo. Atlanta Falcons star Kyle Pitts was floated as a potential target, and a lesser known name that some mentioned was Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer.

5/07/25 Patriots Linked to Bizarre Trade for Bears Weapon. The New England Patriots are actually pretty set at tight end, as they have Hunter Henry at the top of their depth chart and re-signed Austin Hooper in free agency. It's the one position at which the Patriots actually didn't have much of an issue heading into the NFL Draft, but while New England's tight ends are solid, there is also very little doubt that the Pats lack explosiveness there. Could the Patriots be looking to swing a big trade to address it?

4/22/25 NFL Draft Expert Highlights Favorite Prospect At Patriots Position Of Need. The New England Patriots enter the 2025 NFL draft with multiple clear holes on their roster. At the same time, it may be beneficial for the Patriots to also address their long-term needs, such as the tight end position. While New England has Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper returning to lead the depth chart, both are over 30 years old, and Hooper's contract expires at the end of the season. Although Henry signed a three-year extension in 2024, the deal does not include guaranteed money in 2026, and he will be 32 years old.

4/17/25 Patriots Connected to Compelling Notre Dame Star. In spite of a free-agent spending spree, the New England Patriots still have needs up and down their roster heading into the NFL Draft. New England has Hunter Henry as its number one option at the position, and it re-signed Austin Hooper in free agency, giving quarterback Drake Maye a couple of big, reliable targets.

3/23/25 Patriots trade proposal gets Pro-Bowl pass catcher to give Drake Maye a star red-zone target. The New England Patriots face an interesting conundrum when it comes to one possible trade acquisition. The Pats have a loaded tight end depth chart with veterans Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper. But there's a tantalizing option out there in the form of Atlanta Falcons former first-round pick and Pro-Bowler Kyle Pitts. If he's available, Bernd Buchmasser of Pats Pulpit suggested New England should try and get him to give promising QB Drake Maye another weapon.
