7/26/25 Report: Cincinnati Reds Targeting Two Key Positions at Trade Deadline. The Cincinnati Reds are 54-50 and just one game out of the third and final National League Wild Card spot. MLB insider Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic wrote an article and shared what he's hearing around the league and the trade deadline. "The Reds are targeting a middle-of-the-order bat and bullpen help," Rosenthal wrote. He also shared that one rival executive said the Reds and Giants should be aggresive buyers. It's no surprise the Reds are looking for offensive help and bullpen help, but if they could land a bat that they could place in the middle of the lineup between Austin Hays and Elly De La Cruz, the Cincinnati offense could be dangerous. The MLB trade deadline is at 6 pm ET on Thursday,

7/05/25 Cincinnati's Austin Hays says it 'would have been nice to play another year' with Phillies. Austin Hays stood at second base, the center of the storm, and thought about what might have been. 7/04/25 Trade deadline preview: Dave Dombrowski on the Phillies' biggest roster needs and their X-factor. Last July, when the Phillies acquired left fielder Austin Hays four days before the trade deadline, Dave Dombrowski gave this explanation for the move: “[ Brandon] Marsh has not hit left-handed pitching at all. We felt comfortable to have a defensive player in center field in [Johan] Rojas or [Cristian] Pache. But all of a sudden, we were playing two defensive players against a left-hander, in left field and center field. And you can get by with that at times. But as you look at our ballclub, we were a little susceptible to left-handed pitching in the outfield.” Advertisement Sound familiar? A year later, Phillies center fielders were batting .235 and slugging .309 against left-handed pitchers

6/03/25 Three Players The Guardians Should Target Ahead of MLB Trade Deadline. At this point, most teams have a fairly good idea of where they stand in the playoff hunt and where their roster needs improvement to make a postseason push, including the Cleveland Guardians. Here are three early players the Guardians should have on their radar heading into the deadline. The Guardians' roster has multiple needs, but arguably, the area that needs the biggest upgrade is in the outfield. If the Cincinnati Reds decide to trade away some of their high-value players, the Guardians should check in on Austin Hays.

5/26/25 Phillies predicted to trade for Orioles All-Star, Silver Slugger at key position. The Philadelphia Phillies have blitzed their way to the best record in baseball. After a red-hot first half, the 2024 Phillies played .500 baseball in the second half, ultimately hanging on to win the National League East but losing to the division rival New York Mets in the NLDS. The Phillies love their roster and team chemistry, and last season, they didn't mess with either much at the trade deadline. Outside of bullpen additions, their main trade acquisition was Austin Hays, who wasn't getting that much playing time in a crowded Baltimore Orioles outfield.

5/23/25 Orioles bullpen implodes, position player pitches in 19-5 loss to Red Sox. At last year's trade deadline, the Philadelphia Phillies had too many relievers and the Baltimore Orioles didn't have enough. The Orioles traded outfielder Austin Hays and two pitching prospects for Seranthony Domínguez and Gregory Soto, two former closers who had fallen out of favor in Philadelphia. The results haven't been great, and Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader was the latest example. Domínguez and Soto imploded in the sixth inning, surrendering five runs to sink the Orioles in their 19-5 loss to the Red Sox.
