7/30/25 Blue Jays escape sweep in Baltimore and head home for MLB trade deadline day. More help is on the way. BALTIMORE—The Blue Jays have bounced back from adversity a few times this season, and they did it again during a series finale in Baltimore that should calm some nerves following a four-game losing streak. The Jays were at serious risk of getting swept in a four-game series for the first time in nearly two years. Myles Straw and Nathan Lukes homered, Bo Bichette hit a key two-run single and the Jays came storming back to steal a 9-8 victory.

7/23/25 Bo Bichette's two-run homer caps Blue Jays' wild 8-4 win over rival Yankees. The victory tied the Blue Jays with the Houston Astros for the best record in the American League. Myles Straw's double drove in Ernie Clement for the go-ahead run in the sixth inning as Toronto (60-42) won the best-of-three series and locked up the tiebreaker between the two AL East rivals.

7/05/25 Costly error leads to Blue Jays 4-3 win over Angels in 10 innings. Myles Straw scored the winning run on a throwing error by pitcher Sam Bachman in the 10th inning, and the Toronto Blue Jays extended their winning streak to six games by beating the Los Angeles Angels 4-3 on Friday night. Straw, the automatic runner, scored from second when Bachman fielded Ernie Clement's sacrifice bunt and overthrew first base. Bachman (1-2) entered in the 10th and walked leadoff hitter Nathan Lukes, putting runners on first and second with nobody out for Clement.

6/19/25 Blue Jays Avoid Major Injuries To Center Field as Myles Straw Expected To Avoid IL. The Toronto Blue Jays continue to be a pleasant surprise in their 2025 MLB campaign and enter play on June 18 with a firm hold on the second American League wild card spot. After a series sweep by the Philadelphia Phillies, the Blue Jays are looking to sweep the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday. A pitch struck Clase's right knee, causing him to exit in the bottom of the fourth inning. Straw replaced him in center field, and four batters later, he slammed into the wall chasing a double and sprained his right ankle.

6/07/25 Ghost of Myles Straw continues to haunt Guardians in 5-3 loss to Astros in 10 innings. The ghost of Myles Straw loomed large Saturday afternoon at Progressive Field. When the Guardians acquired Straw from Houston in 2021, it cost them a minor league catcher named Yainer Diaz. Diaz's two-run homer off Gavin Williams in the sixth inning gave the Astros a 3-0 lead, until Jose Ramirez erased that lead with a two-run homer of his own to tie the score in the seventh, before the Astros scored twice in the 10th inning to beat the Guardians, 5-3.

6/06/25 Why Myles Straw trade to Blue Jays was a blessing in disguise. When Cleveland GM Chris Antonetti called Straw to let him know about the deal, he added a simple, but powerful line — “You'll get to be by your mom now.” Straw's mother had a stroke in early January before the Jays acquired him, and she resides just an hour away from Toronto's spring training complex in Dunedin. “When I sit back and think about it all, I always tell myself that I feel like things happen for a reason,” Straw said.

4/17/25 Ex-Guardians OF Straw 'having the most fun in my career' in Toronto. It's been about three months since the Cleveland Guardians traded outfielder Myles Straw to the Toronto Blue Jays, and he couldn't be happier about it. Straw, 30, played three-plus seasons in Cleveland from 2021-24, winning a Gold Glove award in 2022. Now in Toronto, Straw seems to have found his groove at the plate, hitting .355 with a .928 OPS through 14 games this season.

4/13/25 Myles Straw drives in go-ahead run in 10th, Blue Jays beat Orioles 7-6. Myles Straw drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning to cap a comeback that carried the Toronto Blue Jays past the Baltimore Orioles 7-6 on Sunday. Alejandro Kirk homered and drove in two runs for the Blue Jays, who trailed 6-3 in the eighth before rallying to earn a split of the rain-shortened two-game series. Ryan Mountcastle and Tyler O'Neill went deep and Gunnar Henderson had three hits for the Orioles, who were denied their first winning streak and series victory of the year.

3/20/25 Why Blue Jays boss Mark Shapiro expects Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to sign a contract extension. “I think we're going to sign him,”  Shapiro said in a boardroom at the Jays' player development complex. Touching on another major off-season swing-and-miss, Shapiro defended the decision to jump the gun on a trade for international bonus pool money — taking on almost $12 million in outfielder Myles Straw, who played his way out of the major leagues with Cleveland after the 2023 season — in their ultimately fruitless pursuit of star free-agent Roki Sasaki, who signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

3/17/25 Roden and Straw show their mettle in push for outfielder jobs with Toronto Blue Jays. Alan Roden is proving he's up for the challenge. Myles Straw is showing he can also hang at the big-league level. The Toronto Blue Jays outfielders have been in the spotlight for different reasons in recent weeks and their strong pre-season play has left team brass with some tough decisions to make ahead of the club's season opener. Roden and Straw, both non-roster invitees, have posted impressive numbers in Grapefruit League play and have made the battle for the fourth outfielder spot an interesting one.

1/18/25 Jays get $2M in pool space in trade with Guardians. Toronto got $2 million in international signing bonus pool allocation from Cleveland that could have been used in their ultimately fruitless bid for Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki as part of a deal Friday that also brought outfielder Myles Straw to Toronto.

1/18/25 Blue Jays get OF Myles Straw, $2 million in pool space from Guardians, but miss out on Sasaki. Cleveland agreed to a long-term deal in April 2022 with Straw, but he hit just .221 with no homers, 32 RBIs and 21 stolen bases that year, then batted .238 with one homer, 29 RBIs and 20 steals in 2023.

1/17/25 How Guardians Recent Trade Could Be Connected To Roki Sasaki. On Friday, The Cleveland Guardians made a relatively minor trade regarding the overall MLB landscape. The Guardians traded Myles Straw to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for a player to be named later or financial compensation. Cleveland also added a sum of international signing money for the 2025 period.

9/20/24 What's next for Guardians' Carlos Carrasco?. On Friday, the Cleveland Guardians needed to make space on the 40-man roster so they could call up Myles Straw for outfield help amid the injury to left fielder Steven Kwan. In the end, the Guardians decided to designate veteran starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco for assignment, therefore paving the way for their preferred roster move. Carrasco, however, has decided to stick around with the Guardians organization. After clearing waivers, the 37-year-old starter has chosen to accept an outright assignment to the team's Triple-A affiliate, the Columbus Clippers, as per GuardsInsider on X, formerly known as Twitter.
