Sunday's series finale between the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels didn't start on time due to inclement weather, but the afternoon did not lack for entertaining moments. Once the rain had cleared and the teams took the field at Citizens Bank Park, outfielder Jo Adell got into it with the Phillie Phanatic outside the Angels' dugout. The two wrestled for a bit, until the mascot unleashed his finishing move by bonking Adell on the head with his snout. Adell walked away, allowing the Phanatic to claim victory and flex to the crowd.

After winning their first game of the second half on Friday, the Los Angeles Angels took a 9-5 loss against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell has finally blossomed into the star the Halos envisioned when they took him with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 draft. Adell, 26, broke out in June — posting an OPS of 1.038 while hitting 11 homers — and hasn't slowed down in July, recording hits in each of his three games this month. MLB Network analyst Chris Young highlighted the star's performances over the last month, and commended Adell for making the adjustments he needed to become an elite player.

Los Angeles Angels beat writer for The Athletic Sam Blum described outfielder Jo Adell's electric month of June as "career-saving" after his rough start to the season. Through May, Adell was hitting .212 with an OPS shy of .700, and had spent a majority of the month south of the Mendoza Line. In the final game of the month against the Cleveland Guardians, Adell crushed a homer, and carried his momentum into June.
