7/28/25 | As Jake Burger eyes his return, could Texas Rangers finally reach full health soon?. Dare we say it: The Rangers' contingent of hitters is getting scarily close to being fully healthy. Jake Burger, the lone remaining significant injury on the hitting side, took batting practice Monday for the first time since being placed on the IL with a quadriceps muscle issue coming out of the All-Star break. Burger ran for the third time on Monday at “about 70%,” and will try to ramp it up to another level on Wednesday. “It feels better than I expected it to feel,” Burger said Monday. 7/26/25 | How soon could Rangers' Jake Burger, Kyle Higashioka return from soft tissue injuries?. It wouldn't be reflective of this Texas Rangers season to go a day without discussion of soft tissue injuries. Rangers first baseman Jake Burger (quad strain) and catcher Kyle Higashioka (light hamstring strain) both hit before Saturday's game vs. the Atlanta Braves at Globe Life Field. Burger, who has yet to play in the season's second half, hit in the cages during the game and is still multiple weeks away from his return. After a busy offseason that included adding Jake Burger and Joc Pederson to an already deep lineup and overhauling the bullpen, many people were predicting the team would get back on track. 7/12/25 | Texas Rangers opt for cautious approach with Jake Burger as All-Star Break nears. Jake Burger thought he could play Saturday. The Rangers felt a little more caution was wise. Burger tweaked his left quadriceps on an at-bat Friday and left the game an inning later, but indicated he expected to play Saturday. The Rangers considered the long, overnight travel from Southern California, the lack of sleep and potential travel-related dehydration and opted to give him an extra day of rest. 7/11/25 | Struggling Rangers Slugger Opens Up About Rough Season at the Plate. Lack of production at the plate has become the unfortunate norm for the Texas Rangers in the 2025 season, with just about everybody in the clubhouse struggling to find any sort of consistency with the bat in their hands. One guy in particular who has struggled more than most has been the team's newest slugger in Jake Burger, who the Rangers acquired via trade from the Miami Marlins last winter. Texas made the move for Burger in hopes that he could provide some much-needed pop to their lineup, but the move has, unfortunately, borne little fruit as of yet. 7/10/25 | Rangers' Jake Burger knows how fast a season can change. Now he's working to get there. Texas Rangers first baseman Jake Burger, for especially particular reasons, can and will tell you exactly where his statistics stood this time last season. “I think this exact day last year,” Burger said Thursday at Angels Stadium, “I was hitting .215 with a .605 OPS.” Burger is so aware of the data because, from July 11, 2024 through the end of the season with the Miami Marlins, he slashed .288/.345/.572 and hit 20 home runs. “I know how fast these things can change,” Burger said. 7/08/25 | Rangers Falling Woefully Short of Preseason Expectations With One Glaring Weakness. Coming into the 2025 MLB regular season, the Texas Rangers were highly regarded by analysts and fans alike. They received a lot of praise for the work they did in the offseason, acquiring first baseman Jake Burger from the Miami Marlins and signing Joc Pederson in free agency to add some more power to the lineup. That duo, on top of having Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, Wyatt Langford, Adolis Garcia, Jonah Heim, Evan Carter and Josh Jung already in the mix led many people to believe the Rangers had compiled the best lineup 1-through-9 in baseball. 7/01/25 | Texas Rangers Send Slugger on Rehab Stint, Promote Top Prospects to Triple-A. The Texas Rangers have to be excited at the potential return of their first baseman Jake Burger. Burger left a game on June 20 against the Pittsburgh Pirates and the next day he was placed on the injury list with an oblique strain on his left side. The official Texas Rangers PR X account (previously known as Twitter) posted that he is scheduled to bat second for Double-A Frisco and play first base against Arkansas on Tuesday. The Rangers hope that Burger will be ready to be activated on Friday and play for them at the start of their road trip to San Diego. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/rangers/news/texas-rangers-... |

6/24/25 | Texas Rangers Can Feel Good About This One Thing Nearing Midway Point of Season. The 2025 MLB regular season has not gone according to plan for the Texas Rangers. This offseason, the team made a lot of moves looking to get back into contention in the American League. Many predicted them to be the favorites in the AL West after they added some real power to their lineup, trading for first baseman Jake Burger from the Miami Marlins and signing Joc Pederson to take over as their designated hitter. Adding those two, along with catcher Kyle Higashioka, to a lineup that already had Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, Adolis Garcia, Wyatt Langford, Jonah Heim, Josh Jung and Josh Smith gave the Rangers what many people thought was the best lineup 1-through-9 in baseball. 6/21/25 | Rangers place 1B Jake Burger (oblique) on 10-day injured list. The Texas Rangers placed first baseman Jake Burger on the 10-day injured list on Saturday because of a left oblique strain. In a corresponding move, the Rangers recalled rookie first baseman Justin Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock. Burger, 29, felt tightness on his left side on a swinging strikeout in the seventh inning of the Rangers' 6-2 win in Pittsburgh on Friday night. “I was hopeful going into the scan that it was just some sort of cramp kind of thing,” Burger said Saturday. “I think, for me, I've dealt with this in the past, and it's been pretty quick. My mind's on 11 days. I'll let my body tell me and work with the training staff and strength staff, but my mind's on that 11th day, and Source: https://wkzo.com/2025/06/21/rangers-place-1b-jake-... |

6/20/25 | Rangers' Offense Hits New Low As Team Does This for First Time Since 2023. The theme for this Texas Rangers team throughout the year has been their lackluster offense. Keeping their stars healthy, getting progression from their key youngsters and even adding the likes of Jake Burger and Joc Pederson caused many analysts to predict the Rangers would win the AL West and be one of the World Series contenders coming out of the American League. What was disappointing during their series against the Kansas City Royals is that their offense was a no-show once again, turning in measly performances that caused them to be outscored 16-5 during the three-game set. 6/18/25 | Rangers Named Fit for Braves Star Slugger Who Would Fix Their Offense. The Texas Rangers have had an odd first two and a half months of their 2025 season. A team that had high hopes and expectations for its lineup has seen its offense mired in what can't be deemed a slump anymore since they rank 26th in all of MLB with a team wRC+ of 84. On the other hand, a pitching staff that had a great deal of question marks, especially in terms of health, has both managed to stay reasonably healthy and performed well, posting the second-best ERA in baseball at 3.19. It's kind of unthinkable given the fact that two of the team's biggest offseason moves were to acquire Jake Burger and Joc Pederson, but designated hitter has been a particularly ugly spot for the Rangers. 6/17/25 | Rangers Remain in Playoff Mix, but Not for Reason Many Would Have Predicted. In search of some power, first baseman Jake Burger was acquired from the Miami Marlins and designated hitter Joc Pederson was signed in free agency. The Rangers looked to have the deepest lineup in baseball, set to score runs with regularity to help balance out a pitching staff that had a lot of question marks. It wasn't so much a concern about the talent on the pitching staff, but whether they would be able to stay healthy. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/rangers/news/rangers-remain... |
6/14/25 | Watch: Texas Rangers' Adolis García delivers walk-off hit in extras vs. Chicago White Sox. 2025 may not be going as expected for both Adolis García and the Texas Rangers, but both will hope that Saturday afternoon will provide a spark moving forward. In the bottom of the 11th inning, the Rangers were tied with the Chicago White Sox 4-4, when García came up to bat with Jake Burger on second base and Evan Carter on third. García then connected on a pitch from White Sox left-hander Tyler Alexander to bring home Carter and win the game for Texas. Source: https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/rangers/2025/06/... |
