(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers dropped the series opener 5-1 to the Miami Marlins Friday afternoon at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Miami broke a 1-1 tie with 4 runs in the seventh inning off Aaron Ashby and Nick Mears. Otto Lopez doubled in the seventh to score Xavier Edwards, Agustin Ramirez and Kyle Stowers with Lopez going to third on a fielding error by Blake Perkins. Liam Hicks then hit a sacrifice fly to score Lopez and make it 5-1 Miami. The Brewers got their only run in the fourth inning on Jackson Chourio's 17th home run of the season. Freddy Peralta started and went 5 innings for the Brewers, giving up 1 run on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 9.
