4/04/25 | The Most Fun Bad Baseball Team of All Time. While I don't think the Colorado Rockies will lose 100 games for the third straight season in 2025, I understand the people who do. If not for the Chicago White Sox, the Rockies would rank at the bottom of MLB in nearly every category over the last two seasons. Ezequiel Tovar and Brenton Doyle burst onto the scene and already have gold on the mantle. Doyle, in particular, is already proving to be one of the most impactful defenders in the history of the franchise. Source: https://milehighsports.com/the-most-fun-bad-baseba... |

12/26/24 | Uncustomed Heroes of 2024: Rockies. From May 9th until May 15th, the Colorado Rockies had an impressive seven-game winning streak. During this weeklong period, they scored nine runs against the San Francisco Giants, then swept the Texas Rangers by scoring 15 runs against them, and then swept the San Diego Padres with 19 runs scored against them. The Rockies were the sole NL West team to not compete in 2024, and thus their 100 loss status came as a shock to no one. While they are slowly building something, and with both Ezequiel Tovar and Brenton Doyle having great seasons they're closer than they were previously, a lot of this season was a wash because of the number of below-average, replacement and inexperienced performers that still populated the team. 12/07/24 | Rockies Journal: Colorado GM Bill Schmidt vows to stay the course at Winter Meetings. The Rockies head to Dallas with a game plan, but don't expect them to make any dramatic deals in the “Big D.” General manager Bill Schmidt continues to believe that the club — undergoing a youth movement led by shortstop Ezequiel Tovar, center fielder Brenton Doyle and intriguing pitching prospects — is headed in the right direction. ESPN, for example, has the Rockies ranked dead last in its latest major league power rankings, even behind a White Sox team coming off a 121-loss season. At baseball's Winter Meetings, which begin Monday at the Dallas Hilton Anatole Hotel, Schmidt will continue shopping for a couple of veteran players.
